Camera roll videos not showing up after touching add clip.

When I try to add video clips to an iMovie project only my older videos in my photo library show up, not the ones I just took in my camera roll.

I would like to add that I have tried relaunching the app and rebooting iPhone 4 several times. When I click add media to add a video only the clips from my photo library show up. Not from my camera roll. If I wait over a minute at this point the camera roll clips will show up but with an exclamation point and not long after that the app becomes not responsive and crashes. I have also restored the iPhone but not as a new phone because I do not want to lose all my contacts/calendars/settings.

Okay so I got the iMovie to work a little bit. I haven't used it that much though. I seem to remember that the videos in my camera roll used to load first before the 4.1 firmware. Now they load after the videos that are in my photo library folders. In this case I have over 300 short clips in my photo library folders. So it takes forever to grab a clip that's in my camera roll 😟 please help. Any input is appreciated.

Same problem here, unfortunately.

About a dozen short clips taken around the same time are on my camera roll. For some weird reason, only three of them (seemingly random selections) show up when I try to import them into iMovie on the iPhone 4.

Weirdly, one of the videos was exported from iMovie itself, and every video used to make that movie is selectable through iMovie, even though I deleted some of them.

Weird behaviour and quite annoying - hoping for an official fix soon, but if anyone knows of a workaround, please let me know 🙂

I have the same problem. I'll take multiple videos and only some will be available for import from the camera roll into iMovie. To deal with the app's lack of multiple audio tracks I do my editing in iMovie and export to the camera roll. Then I import the edited video into another app for audio editing. Sometimes the edited app is available and sometimes it isn't. It is very random (and frustrating).

Have you guys tried restarting your phone?
Or alternatively you may need to stop iMovie and restart it (hold the icon in the tray and press the little cross).
Sometime restarting it gives it a kick.

Or try to download Splice free:
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/splice-video-editor-free/id409838725?mt=8

If the clips appear there then it's time to contact Apple support.

I have the same problem but have been able to locate the missing clips. They have all been "hijacked" by other videoclips. Try looking for clips apparantly dubbed. One of them is probably your missing clip.

It has been quite difficult to find specific clips, but with the iOS 4.3 update it is now possible to scroll through the files in the camera roll while importing to the iMovie iPhone-app. This way you can see what is actually contained in the video clip and sort the new hijacked clip from the old one.

I have no clue why it is so and what it will take to fix it.

Same problem here. Half of my clips missing from import list.

Tried restarting app, rebooting phone, syncing. Even tried waiting few minutes with the import clip list open but nothing happened. Any new clip I record is not showing up to the list. Possibly related to IOS 4.3 update, noticed this issue after updating, tho I don't use iMovie more than few times a month so it might have been there before that.

I can import the missing clips to my computer, and watch them on camera roll. Other apps see the clips too, like Facebook app. So it seems like iMovie issue.

Kind of useless app to me until they fix this.

I love the new imovie but since discovering a couple bugs... it has been a little frustrating. movie rolls are not showing up. And even stranger. I took one roll that was not showing up and then split in half. Thinking the size might have something to do with it. so I split the clip in two seperate clips in my photo roll. Then I went back to imovie and tried once again.. this time only one of the clips showed up.. so ok.. I'll roll with it.. I then imported to you tube.. big mistake... I cannot access the video on my iphone because the " the author of this video does not support mobile platform" i have tried a couple workarounds.. but man we need a updateUser uploaded file i LOVE imovie!! so much so it made me order a new ipad.. we need a update and bug fix soon!!
