Let me guess - only voice memos recorded before July show up? I have the same problem - no new memos can be detected by iTunes. They are visible and playable on the iPhone, but there's no way of syncing them, even though all earlier memos sync fine (and sync repeatedly, so that I have the annoyance of lots of duplicate memos when I sync).

I feel bad for you William....I was going absolutely nuts trying to figure this out, so I know how frustrated you feel. Can you list the things you have tried? I researched this alot, so maybe I will see something you have not tried yet. Also, did you know there is a way to see errors on your iphone? I didn't till I started researching this issue. I can't remember how to get there (iphones make my head spin), but I'm sure you could Google how to view error report on iPhone. It might give you some insight into what is happening. Let me know if I can help.

Hi everyone!

Today I faced with this problem. I opened my itunes and couldn't find any voice memos. I tried everything that was here above and everything I could find in Google. I wasted several hours to this sh*t.

Eventually I just typed in Finder's search "Voice Memo" (I work on Mac) and vu a la! my voice memos appeared in Finder (of course my phone was connected to the computer). However they go with their original names (you know the dates and some number, like this: 20141002 170743.m4a).

Oh, by the way I use iphone 4S and current iOS is 8.3 (have no idea about the importance of this info but may be it is useful).

So, I hope this will be helpful for you all.

Wow. This really works. But with the advice from mcmjuly on page 19, not using spaces in the name, even works better (for me that is): this makes them show up in iTunes under Voice Memo's. Thanks guys. I only have one other problem: when I convert these MP4's tot MP3's they aren't completely converted. A 38 minute MP4 recording ends up as an 15 minute MP3. Another annoying problem. Off topic I realise, but maybe somehow connected to this malfunctioning?

finally found the answer to the problem

go in to voice memos then click on the upload button, under the options of Email Messages is a box that says MORE (note its UNDER not the one next to it) after that the option dropbox will come up if you have it installed in your phone... click on it and upload it. 😀 its important not to let your phone sleep in the proces because then it will cancel the upload.

hope it works for you

Thx, worked for me. Seems to be the only sure option. I had 22 voice memos on iPhone, only 12 showed up in iTunes. I tried different solutions, nothing worked. Quite annoying and even upsetting, as these memos have important information... I remarked similar problems sometimes in syncing contacts and the edit-solution also applies to this problem: you edit the contact (just add one letter and remove it is enough, or add e.g. 'ok' at the end), save it and it does sync. You can do similar here, edit every voice memo, just trim it a few images and it will sync. So I guess it's a sync problem. Important note: I needed iBrowse to complete the job. It allows you to transfer all the files, you can read your iPhone like a HD. My 12 memos were in the root, the 10 'invisible' ones were in the subfolder Composition/Fragments. So the audio was definitely there, but it was somewhere corrupted. These files I had to recover from iBrowse, as they wouldn't sync in iTunes and wouldn't also transfer through the Dropbox-command (I got an error-code).

On the Voice Memos - you can forward the recording by Email or Messaging to another device.

I had the same issues with SYNC failing to send the old messages and tried this. It worked for me.

Just Tap the Voice Memo and then slide the message up on the screen to see the forwarding icon.

They show up in your mail as a MP4 attachment, then in your in download file.

From there opening them saves them to iTunes.

😉

It worked for me I had about 8 critical recordings that I had made and needed to save.

I have multiple problems with my iPhone 4S:

1. I can see nothing on the screen barring some occasional blue, red and white lines when I press the Home button

2. Power button is broken

3. iTunes won't sync voice memos.

I had precious voice memos that I had lost hope of recovering and yes, I was desperate. I too tried everything else on this post (that I could manage with the above-mentioned problems) but nope...nothing.

I found out about http://downloads.ecamm.com/PhoneView.zip from somewhere else and was waiting for it to download when I found this post. This worked perfectly.

It looks like Apple has solved the problem. My voice memo's are allways synced now, even when I forget not to use spaces. Is it iOS 8.4? I guess, it's the only thing that's changed here. But they've solved it too well: after every sync iTunes reports that it hasn't been able to sync the 22 voice mails that have been deleted on my iPhone as well as in iTunes on the Mac. Even after a hard reset of the iPhone and a restart of the Mac the reports keep coming. Looks like the bug is still there somehow.
