Let me guess - only voice memos recorded before July show up? I have the same problem - no new memos can be detected by iTunes. They are visible and playable on the iPhone, but there's no way of syncing them, even though all earlier memos sync fine (and sync repeatedly, so that I have the annoyance of lots of duplicate memos when I sync).

I had this problem, read the complete thread and nothing suggested was useful. I decided to try apple support and i got lucky with the guy that helped me (it took 2 hours in the phone tho). I was trying to copy my voice notes from an iphone4 to a mac. He explained that the software versions for iphone4 only get to some 7.something because of the hardware limitations and newer versions are already 10.0 or 12.0 so it is the incompatibility between software versions that make this sometimes a bit tricky, or even impossible. I had to do several security copies and then i ran the copy in my iphone5 which is capable of having the newer software version. then i could finally transfer all of them to my iphone5 first and then synced it to itunes successfully. Hope this helps.

I have the same issue. When I looked on the iPhone itself using a tool called iphonedisk I noticed the recording that does not sync has two files: one .m4a and one .mov file. I've learned that when you record the iPhone first creates a .mov file and when the recording is done, it converts the file to a .m4a file. I believe when this converting process is not properly done, both files remain on the iPhone and iTunes does not sync the voice memo. The .mov file still holds the recording and is playable with quicktime, but the .m4a file is not playable.

My solution is to use the tool (or any other tool that allows you to browse the iPhone) and manually transfer the .mov file for backup to your mac.

Hope this will help.

Just purchased Mac i3 and voice memos won't sync to it from iphone 3GS. The problem is, even though "include voice memos" is checked in itunes, it won't set up a Voice Memos Playlist." Have tried unchecking as one entry suggested but nothing works. Everything else syncs fine BUT, the most important thing for me is that Voice Memos sync. Golly, don't really want to buy a voice recorder to make voice memos, I though this was a function for iphone. Yeah, they record fine, but won't sync.

I have tried every solution listed in this topic - unfortunately none of them worked 😟 I have a 46 minute voice memo of an interview which I needed to transfer to my computer. In the end, I found this software, PhoneView, which offers a free 7-day trial (no credit card needed or anything) and lets you transfer up to 10 voice memos. There doesn't seem to be a size limit because my 46min voice memo (20MB in size) transferred instantly. http://downloads.ecamm.com/PhoneView.zip

Not really a long term solution, but if, like me, you are desperate to get one big file to your Mac quickly, then this is perfect.
