Turn off FaceTime and get way better battery life

To everyone here who is complaining about poor battery life, i have done numerous case studies and trial by error over the past 2 weeks and have found that if you *turn off Facetime when not using it will in fact increase your battery life tremendously*. I have 3G on, Location On and with about 5-6 hours of usage i get 3 days of standby, straight. With Facetime on, it drops to about 1.5 days. So you do the math, if you're not using facetime, turn it off!!

p.s. i have personally tested this myself.

I'm not doubting your test and solution, but I question why one should have to do this. Now, if you're in WiFi mode a lot, facetime may be able to cause battery drain, but since Facetime only works in WiFi, if you don't have WiFi on, it shouldn't effect battery life if one leaves Facetime on.

Personally, I only switch to WiFi if I want to initiate a FaceTime call, or I'm in a situation where WiFi is needed. I have unlimited data (was grandfathered in my data plan since I've had AT&T for a bazillion years), so I'm not too concerned about how much data I use.

At least for me, having Facetime on, does not reduce battery life on my phone. I routinely get 2 - 3 days out of a single charge.

I am not sure about that because even though facetime works only through wifi it generates cell data transfers while is enabled (even in standby). I have tested this very carefully.

This seems a lot more than I get with moderate usage.
