Iphone 4 airplane mode receives texts/calls

Getting the same thing. No jailbreak. Got a text from someone who was using android so it wasn iMessage. Did a soft boot. Not sure if it fixed or not but I'm going to be stuck with roaming charges. Not impressed at all. Airplane mode has t been taken off in weeks it suddenly getting messages while roaming.

OMG. Same thing just happened to me. I travel domestic and international all the time and very cautious with airplane mode. I always use tethering service with another smart phone I rent during the internationaly travel. I am in South Korea and I just start receiveing the imessages from the States. I freaked out. - Once I got charged so much on roaming when the airplan mode was off for 20 minutues.😢 What is going on? I just turned on and off the airplane mode. Any answers from Apple?

It (Jun 2014) just happened to me too, I kept getting texts from verizon that I went over my data limit and asking if I want to increase it. I increased my plan by responding to the text. Two days later I get another text that I've blown through my plan again.

I logged on to verizon and saw that my daughters phone that's on my shared plan was blowing through my data plan. Her phone has data turned off AND it's in airplane mode and it has been that way for weeks since she's been visiting her grandparents

I called Verizon why it was billing me for a phone that is not connected to their network and their answer was "we don't care, you have to pay. Phones don't just download stuff in airplane mode." I mean really? Their answer was well you're stupid but for extra money we can add a feature to block that phone from downloading more data.

We are leaving for Germany in a few days and clearly the software can't be trusted so we'll be definitely removing the SIMs instead of using "Airplane Mode" or "Disable Cellular Data"
