Keeps stopping during movies

Every time I rent a movie from iTunes and watch on my Apple TV, the movie stops about 6-10 times. I am returned to the setup page where, after a couple of clicks on the remote I have the movie restarted.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Is it a common problem?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.4), Apple TV2

Hey Ivanello...When you say that you used the power-line networking, are you saying that this then allowed you to rent HD movies?...At the moment, using my wireless connection to my Time Capsule I can rent SD movies and they are ready to play inside of 15 seconds, but if I hit rent on an HD movie, it doesn't appear in the renting section at the top of the movies page at all....I still need to check if it has debited my credit card because it allows me to go through the whole purchase procedure, but nothing downloads....I have one of those power-line networking things here somewhere....If you say that fixes the HD rental problem I will have to dig it out!

I have the same problem with movies stopping, these are being streamed form my iTunes library over an ethernet. Rented movies seem to be fine. Does seem to happen more when another mac on the network is being used.

I have the exact same issue, and it is only with certain movies. When I stream them from my iTunes library, using Airplay, to my iPad they stop at random during playback. Pressing play will do nothing as it immediately repauses. When I play it off the computer itself there are no quality issues.

I have the same issue. I rented the movie on iTunes & why it was downloading, i could play it on my mac but not on apple tv. when it fully downloaded, i could then stream to apple tv but it kept stopping! i have no issues with playing tv shows through apple tv, only rentals!

All software, blah blah is updated.

**** frustrating!
