My powermac g5 got a new hard drive and now doesn't do anything!

I got a new hard drive for my powermac g5 as the older one broke, now I can't get it to work!
What should I do? Any help will be appreciated as I am a newbie to this.
Thanks.

I stopped using a Dock station for drives, they get only passive cooling and can get very warm. Handy for just quick light use.

Expensive but works nicely, no fan but metal case.
USB/eSATA/Firewire 800 $100

I noticed that, which is why "toaster" is a doubly-appropriate nickname. Not quite oven-mitts hot, but definitely warm.

Actually, a good test with an IR thermometer...another excuse to buy a new toy.
