My powermac g5 got a new hard drive and now doesn't do anything!

Those cases are ESD, slightly cushioned, and almost as good for the drives as being hermetically sealed in a Mason jar on Funk and Wagnall's front porch.

I stopped using a Dock station for drives, they get only passive cooling and can get very warm. Handy for just quick light use.

Expensive but works nicely, no fan but metal case.

I noticed that, which is why "toaster" is a doubly-appropriate nickname. Not quite oven-mitts hot, but definitely warm.

Actually, a good test with an IR thermometer...another excuse to buy a new toy.

I'd be interested in the testing, my "Toasters" seem cooler than any cased drives I have.
