All iTunes content on your iPhone - all music, movies, tv shows, and 3rd party apps should be in your iTunes library on your computer. All apps will or should be with Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes which should be selected for a number of reasons.

With this selected, after downloading an app with your iPhone, the app will be copied to your iTunes library automatically the first time you sync your iPhone with iTunes after doing so. This also allows for downloading an app with iTunes on your computer and installing the app on your iPhone via the iTunes sync process. This also allows for removing an app from your iPhone if wanted or needed without deleting the app by deselecting the app under the Apps tab followed by a sync. To re-install the app on your iPhone again later, reselect the app nuder the Apps tab followed by a sync.

No iTunes content on your iPhone is included with your iPhone's backup including 3rd party apps. All iTunes content on your iPhone should be in your iTunes library on your computer including all 3rd party apps. If so, regardless if you restore your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup or as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup, all iTunes content that was available on your iPhone before doing the restore will be re-transferred to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process.

You can re-download an app with iTunes on your computer and you won't be charged again for a purchased app as long as you use the same iTunes account to re-download the app that was used to purchase the app originally.

I've already told you where the apps should be and how to get them back if not. Whoever you spoke with at Orange is clueless. Direct that person here so he/she can learn something about the iPhone in this regard.

Did you have Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes?

If so, all apps on your iPhone will be available in your iTunes library on your computer.

As already provided - with this selected, after downloading an app with your iPhone, the app will be copied to your iTunes library automatically the first time you sync your iPhone with iTunes after doing so.

3rd party apps are not included with your iPhone's backup. All iTunes content on your iPhone - all music, movies, tv shows, and 3rd party apps should be in your iTunes library on your computer.

If your apps are not in your iTunes library on your computer, the apps are gone, but all apps can be re-downloaded again from the iTunes store with iTunes on your computer.

You said you restored your iPhone with iTunes.

When restoring an iPhone with iTunes, it is completely erased first including the firmware/OS being erased. This is followed by the firmware being re-installed. After the firmware is re-installed, you are prompted to restore your iPhone from your iPhone's backup, which is the default selection. The other selection is as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup, which must be manually selected.

3rd party apps are not included with your iPhone's backup. Since you restored your iPhone with iTunes, all apps on your iPhone were erased along with everything else at the first step, which is why there are no 3rd party apps on your iPhone now. Since you did not have Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes and there are no 3rd party apps available on your iPhone now, there are no 3rd party apps to delete on your iPhone when selecting Sync Apps under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, which should have been selected from the start. Had this been selected from the start, all apps that were on your iPhone would be in your iTunes library on your computer and could be re-installed on your iPhone via the iTunes sync process.

If all apps that were on your iPhone before restoring your iPhone with iTunes are not in your iTunes library on your computer, you need to re-download the apps with iTunes on your computer. Follow this by selecting Sync Apps under the Apps tab and select all apps below that you want installed on your iPhone followed by a sync.

All 3rd party apps would be back if all 3rd party apps that were on your iPhone before restoring your iPhone with iTunes were in your iTunes library on your computer, which is where all 3rd party apps that were on your iPhone should be available along with all other iTunes content that was on your iPhone before restoring your iPhone with iTunes.

For the last time, ALL ITUNES CONTENT on your iPhone including ALL 3RD PARTY APPS, should be in your iTunes library on your computer and would be in your iTunes library on your computer with SYNC APPS SELECTED under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, which you didn't have selected previously. Without this being selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, after downloading an app with your iPhone the app will not be copied to your iTunes library automatically the first time you sync your iPhone with iTunes after doing so.

If you want to depend on the clueless folks you are talking to at Orange, more power to you.

And too much effort? If you had begun re-downloading all apps with iTunes on your computer at the time of your first post in this thread and between talking to the folks at Orange who are clueless about this, you would be done by now.

If the 3rd party apps are not in your iTunes library where they should be, THEY WILL NOT MAGICALLY RE-APPEAR. 3rd party apps are NOT included with your iPhone's backup. If all 3rd party apps that were on your iPhone are in your iTunes library where they should be and would be with Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, when restoring your iPhone with iTunes, the apps will be re-installed on your iPhone from your iTunes library along with all other iTunes content that was on your iPhone before restoring it with iTunes. All iTunes content on your iPhone should be in your iTunes library on your computer including ALL 3rd party apps.

If the apps are not in your iTunes library where they should be, you can keep restoring your iPhone with iTunes over and over again but this will not cause the apps to magically reappear.

If the apps that were on your iPhone before restoring your iPhone with iTunes are not in your iTunes library, the ONLY way to get the apps back is by re-downloading the apps with iTunes on your computer or with your iPhone. The sooner you get started with this, the faster you will be done.

If this is too much effort for you, then kiss all the apps goodbye because they won't reappear and be available to you again any other way.

well apparently its stored on apple's server..

Yes the whole app store is on their server,
heck all the songs, movies, tv shows they have are on their server.

A back up of your phone is not on their server.

Others have told you the truth.
