Question

iWeb Blog - How do people leave comments?

Hi - I have made a site with iWeb and added a blog. Even though I have 'ticked' the box to allow comments I can't see where or how anyone can leave any?

Can anyone help me with what I am doing or not doing?

Where did you get the code for the comments and how did you apply it to the page.

Where are you publishing your site to - MobileMe or an external host/server such as GoDaddy? If GoDaddy, then Blog comments in iWeb is a MobileMe only feature and won't work if your site is not posted to MMe.

Thanks - That answers it - my site is hosted with GoDaddy - Ugg - Ok time to see if I can change where it is hosted 🙂

Hi
All I did was click the option in the inspector to allow comments.

Someone else has replied and said that as I have my site hosted with GoDaddy the comments function doesn't work - it only works with mobile me.

I am not too sure how easy that is to change?

You can use a 3rd party comments site to add to your blog page without having to change servers. This one has been recommended by several users: http://www.intensedebate.com/

Another one is http://aboutecho.com/products-overview.html but I think that's not free if there's over so many comments. I've not used either so can't comment on their effectiveness first hand.

Either try http://www.intensedebate.com which is a free comment system that you can add at the end of your blog, or create your blog in WordPress and either create a link to it from your iWeb site or embed it into your site directly by using iframe code.
