Java Virtual Machine & SPSS 18

Hi,

I'm getting the following error from SPSS 18.0.3 when I try to run descriptive statistics: Could not start Java Virtual Machine. Chart will not be drawn".

I need charts for my grad school assignment. I've never had this issue before, and since I've install the most recent patch, I think it must be an operating system error.

Any idea how to get SPSS to recognize/link up with JVM?

I have no idea how this works, so I need help!

I am relatively new to Mac and the SPSS Support fix is working but it is relatively unintuitive to install given their instructions.

I was able to make the changes up through step 5 using terminal and then became frustrated trying to insert the new lib file. Turns out, you can drag the new lib file and drop into appropriate place if you right click on the application and select "show package contents" and place the new lib file in the folder where the rename .orig resides.

Thanks everyone for your help. It's frustrating to lose a half a day of data processing time to technical incompatibilities.

Anyone having problem with copying and pasting image from SPSS output (charts, graphs, plots) to Pages or Words after applying the fix from SPSS for Java Virtual Machine?
Now when I copy a scatterplot for example, and paste it to Pages, it went simply blank. When I tried copy special and chose only image, it wouldn't work either. Help please.
