QuickTime Player has stopped working

On my Vista machine, I can not run Quicktime since I get the error "QuickTime Player has stopped working" so it basically crashes. If I run Quicktime from other user accounts it works fine. It also works fine if I run it "as administrator". I have uninstalled and reinstalled it with no success. I have also followed suggestions in this forum to erase some hidden quicktime related files with no success. Does anyone have any other ideas???

I don't think I'm up for that. We don't even know if it is specifically a registry problem, or even a quicktime registry key at all. And then I'd have to pick a key a change something, not knowing what to change it to...

🙂 Fair enough. The run-as-administrator workaround is probably the way to go then, but it's probably worth keeping an eye out for any other apparently-UAC-related trouble you might strike in your usual user account on the PC. (With any luck, help documentation on how to resolve that other trouble might also help fix the QuickTime-launch problem +en passant.)+
