iPod Touch 4g VERY slow wifi

I have recently bought a new ipod touch 4g to replace my old 2g ipod touch, the main reason for this is because it is supposed to be faster, granted the internet speed doesnt have much to do with the processor 🙂
But i noticed the internet was slower than usual, so i put my new and old ipod side to side and used the Freeappaday app (because it accesses internet immediately and takes a while to start up even on the fastest of connections) and on the last attempt the 2g took 10 seconds and the 4g took 30 seconds, if there was only like 5 seconds between them i wouldnt be too bothered, but it takes about 20 seconds just to load the achievements in game center!
Is anybody else having this problem? Should i take the ipod to an apple store or send it in for repair?

well i do not have a problem with wifi ( i do not have a wireless router and mostly get 3 bars lol) but if i may i suggest check your internet connection. you could have the connection as your computer. it may happen 😀

Hello to everyone , i wanna know how does wifi speed can be boost up over ipod as my core use on ipod 4g is video calling on skype across the globe so now adays it is facing problems in video calling . Please give your kind attention towards this problem . I'll be highly obliged . Thankyou.

It helps because when you have a 3 bar connection for all of your call, you don't get all crackled voices and blurred pictures. That happens to me so I would recommend going more close to the router and being in a more quiet room because somtimes the voice is very faint.

Is there a resolution for this? I got my daughter an iPod touch 4g for christmas and the Internet, App Store and iTunes are painfully slow on it. I have two phones (1 blackberry and 1 android), a ps3, a net book and an iPad 4 running off my wifi and all are fine (tested over 25mbps on the iPad). Only the iPod is having problems. It's connected fine but everything is brutally slow to load from the Internet. I have a netgear n600 router running the latest firmware. Like I said all my other devices are fine except the iPod. Is there a setting or something to change on it? TIA

Same issue, mine isn't a network/router issue. Far as I can tell from everthing I've done apple needs to address this. They have channel/security protocal issues and I'm getting a bit annoyed having to play the channel swich games to use all my apple devices at the same time. I have an ipod 4 touch, an ipad 2 and a macbook. all of them work flawlessly if I swich channels to 11,4,7 respectively. Just not one channel all 3 will be happy on 😝
