This work for me.. try it :-))
Once you have the driver installed (i used Mac_CAPT_V355_us_EN.dmg installer) and the printer connected and turned on, open any printable document, then:
1. System Preference > Print and Fax
2. Click on "+" to add printer.
3. You will see LBP6000/LBP6018 in the box that appears. Ignore it. Instead, click on "More printers..." in the bottom left corner of the same box.
4. Another box will appear with a dropdown menu at the top, giving you two choices. Choose "CANON USB (CUPS CAPT)," which will give you the model number again. Click on it, then "Add," and voila!
I have the same problem. My LBP6000 used to work very well and all of a sudden it stopped printing text.
After reading all the previous posts and checking the Cannon website, I deleted the existing printer driver and downloaded the latest CPAT Printer Driver Version 3.55 for Mac OS X 10.5/10/6/10.7/10.8 dated 08/06/12 from
It is now working again!!
