iTunes store temporarily unavailable?

I am getting the following message when I click to open the iTunes store:

"We could not complete your iTunes store request. The iTunes store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."

Is anyone else having this issue?

Thank you.

Hi guys,

I'm having the same issue but it seems to have cascaded onto my iphone and ipad. I can access the App store fine on my devices but can't download anything and it won't let me search for quite a few uncommon apps which I know are there because they show up on the itunes stores on my iTunes on my Work PC (Windows 7).

At first I thought it was a wifi/network issue - maybe my company firewall was blocking something - so I took my iPhone off wifi and on regular data...still getting same issue where I can access and see content on App Store but can't download anything.

Any help would be appreciated!

If you tack onto an ancient thread about a problem which was resolved months ago you're just going to confuse yourself. As has been reported in numerous posts in these forums it's a widespread problem, which doesn't appear to be related to any security or other updates. Evidently there is an issue with Apple's servers and it's a question of waiting for them to fix it.

Re: New episodes available for download - The Blacklist, Season 2 AND Shark Tank, Season 6

WILL NOT PLAY...AGAIN. BOTH NEW EPISODES SHOW UP ON APPLE TV, but:

"THE ITUNES STORE IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE. TRY AGAIN LATER" ...AGAIN! (as of now: for two hours).

Can you imagine turning on "normal" TV to see a show or sporting event or BREAKING NEWS

and seeing a message that says, "Try again later".

iTunes store is UP and store PLAYS older episodes, but not the new ones.

THIS IS A BUG!

REBOOTED the Apple TV. (Unreliable crap, requiring frequent rebooting. I have 4.)

NO HELP.

I had always hesitated to PURCHASE TV episodes and especially MOVIES for fear that I would someday NOT BE ABLE to access them...if, for example, Apple went out of business. BUT here we are and Apple is still (sort of) in business, BUT NOT AVAILABLE AND NOT RELIABLE. I WILL NOT PURCHASE ANY MORE TV OR MOVIES FROM APPLE TV.

NO WONDER "Tim" lowered the price on Apple TV.

NOTE, However, that I WAS able to download the new Blacklist episode to my iPhone (using up valuable real estate, so I'll have to delete it) AND play it through AirPlay (one of the RARE TIMES AIRPLAY WORKED).

Apple is really screwed and screwed up. TIM HAS FAILED US.

Apple died when Steve jObs was fired years ago, and now that he's dead, it will fail again.

Back to ROKU! (I have two, never had a problem with them, never had to reboot.)

And… ON TO SAMSUNG GALAXY phones! (We currently have 3 iphone 6+, not to mention past iPhone 5s's and 5's. Never 4...thought an Apple Phone was a bad idea. I was right... So MANY things don't work with the iPhone 6+ and iOS 8, and , strangely, NO ONE is reporting them to us ONLINE.)

(A friend just texted a picture from her Galaxy 5. The clarity was so outstanding, it was blinding.

Our iPhone 6 PLUS's (and 5s) make the pictures look like they have the photoshop painted "Sprayed Strokes" effect applied. Very bad.)

Guys, Page 16 has the only fix that worked for me.

Re: iTunes store temporarily unavailable?in response to abigail88

Here is how I solved it on my Macs as well as Windows.

Here is for the Mac:

- Quit iTunes

- Go to Safari and open Safari preferences (in the Safari/Preferences menu)

- Navigate to the privacy tab.

- Choose to "Always" block cookies (you can change that back once the issue is solved)

- Click "Details" below "Remove All Website Data"

- Type apple.com in the search field

- Select apple.com and click the remove button

- Check that the apple.com line does not re-appear (it shouldn't, but if it ever does, quit and relaunch Safari and start over)

- Quit Safari

- Launch iTunes

- Connect to your iTunes account

- Smile :-)

Here is for Windows 7 (must be similar for other Windows versions):

- Quit iTunes (and Safari if you have it)

- Openan Explorer window ("My Computer" for example)

- Well hidden in the upper bar under "Organize" choose "Folder and search options"

- In the "view" tab, make sure that "Show hidden files, folders and drives" is checked and click OK

- Navigate to C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\Cookies or YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\Cookies if that is easier

- Delete everything in that folder

- (I am not sure this is necessary) you might want to also trash items in the YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\Cookies folder

- Launch iTunes

- Connect to your iTunes account

- Smile :-)

Please tell me if that works for Mac and PC (I tried other things before those instructions so an extra step might have been involved)

Jérôme.

Let me know if it worked for you, keep this fix alive!
