Uniform File/Folder Layout

Right I am in a bit of a pickle and was wondering if anyone can help me. This problem has bothered me for years.

I am trying to organise my folders so they all look the same. I click Alt + J and set-up the folder how I like it, so a decent space, the right size icon and text positioning etc. I then click 'Use a default', I assume this makes all new files the same. My problem lies in all my other folders I have (which are many).

How can I apply my custom folder view to all existing files/folders on my mac?

Also is there a way to ensure all finder windows open the same size, rather then swapping between a number of sizes?

Many thanks,

Luke
