David, makes sense there.
However, other movies that I have in my library with Itunes Extra stream fine.
Maybe it is automatically picking up the SD version that is downloaded alongside the HD version and my Toy Story 3 SD version wasn't completely downloaded yet.
I have had download issues before when being HD content with Extras.

Thanks for the idea though as I know the kids want to watch and I don't want them piled into my bed watching on my appleTV1 in the bedroom!!

Yup, I have other movies with 'extras' that work fine too. I did open the 'extras' before the movies finished downloading to watch the shorts with my son, so maybe that messed it up somehow, but we still shouldn't be having any problem wtih content bought from itunes streaming to the new ATV.

I also get an error while trying to stream Toy Story 3 to an Apple TV Gen 2. Everything works great within iTunes or Apple TV Gen 1. I will try the "delete iTunes extras" tonight but there does appear to be an issue specific with Toy Story 3. My other HD movies that have extras stream just fine.

OK...so I got Toy Story 3 to stream last night.
Not sure what the trick was, but here is what I did.
1. Removed the "Extras" file from Itunes....No help
2. Reinstalled "Extras" file to Intues...No Help
3. Started to "Extras: file in Itunes...No Help
4. Started the SD version in Itunes...STARTED STREAMING

It has been working flawlessly since.
It seem that the AppleTV2 has issues picking which version (HD w/extra vs. SD) to stream right now.
Hopefully the pending rumored/reported update will fix this.

I do get audio, but it’s only coming through as 2.1, not 5.1. I did an experiment with other HD content of mine, purchased from iTunes, and noticed that the audio from those is also only 2.1. I’m thinking there’s something set wrong on my receiver, which I’ll have to investigate now.

Confirmed that "Toy Story 3" has this known issue with it's Stereo audio.

Specifically, there is no Dolby 5.1 surround in the "Stereo" audio. You only get that when you select "Surround" audio via the little "Q" bubble in the iTunes player. However, "Toy Story 3" is unlike my other purchased iTunes movies (HD and SD) that come with selectable "Stereo" or "Surround" audio – all those movies still have Dolby 5.1 audio encoded in the "Stereo" audio which my external AV amp detects with Dolby Pro Logic.

Because Front Row only seems to be able to play back these dual audio movies using only the Stereo audio, I usually don't use the "Surround" audio settings in such movies, preferring to instead decode the Dolby 5.1 from the Stereo tracks. But I can confirm that "Toy STory 3" has no such Dolby 5.1 encoded in it's "Stereo" track. It's only available when you select its "Surround" track (a real bummer for Front Row viewing).

You can only view Itunes extras on Mac or PC with Itunes 9.0 or later.

Or old TV. With all the new movies coming out still with Extras, It may be a sign.

I can not get Toy Story 3 to even stream to my Atv2.
Works fine on my old apple tv and Imac.

Am I missing something. The kids are major bummed they can not watch the movie tonight.

I’m not getting 5.1 sound from my ATV2, while streaming Toy Story 3 HD, purchased from iTunes. Anyone else seeing this problem?

Matthew, I had the same problem. I removed the "extras" component from the iTunes movie list and I was able to stream to the new Atv. Hopefully this is fixed soon!
