USB microphone not recognized

Thanks so much for posting this. It worked for me after hours and hours trying to figure it out. Even Blue Snowball told me that my Snowball must be faulty! 🙂

IT CANNOT BE PLUGGED IN UPSIDE DOWN!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you that it should not be able to be done, but I assure you (at least on mine) it most certainly CAN be plugged in upside down.

That is the irony of the whole thing. It should be impossible. But the tolerances are sloppy enough on the Blue Snowball I have that I was able to do with the same pressure it takes to go in correctly and then I didn't not know it since the red LED still came on.

However, the Mac will not recognize the microphone unless it is correctly plugged in.

Yes this worked for me. I cannot believe how silly that is. I didn't even know it was possible for that square shaped USB end to go in any other way but the proper way.
