Netflix error codes almost every time

I have been using my Apple TV to watch netflix for the past month and now it seems as though I cannot play some or most of my content because of a netflix error 111 or 112. Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas on how to fix it? I have tried unplugging the box, hasn't helped.

Thanks!

I believe that I've only seen the error when trying to start a show. I've always been able to start the show (and once I did, it played fine), but sometimes I've had to try two or three times. And sometimes, when it does start, it does not remember that I've already watched part of the show, and starts at the beginning without offering to start where I left off.

Okay, so I owned the ATV(2) for about two weeks and I got a lot of the error 111 and error 112 messages on Netflix. One time, unplugging the ATV solved the problem. Other times, only waiting until the next day allowed me to play the content I wanted to see in my queue.

As an owner of a MBPro, numerous generations of iPods, and the iPhone4, I was extremely disappointed in my user experience regarding the ATV. The fact that it doesn't do much and is still buggy really frustrated me to the point where I returned it to the Apple store. I think I'll be picking up a Roku XD instead..... I'll be able to watch the HD content on Netflix (when available) in 1080p too.

I got my ATV in December as a x-mas present. At first I loved it but then Error 112 introduced itself. At first it was once in a while, maybe once a week. I watch hours of Netflix via ATV and can understand that sometimes it needs to reset. However now I get the error daily AND it is never consistent anymore. Currently only half the shows I try to watch receive the error, others work fine. I have unplugged AND reset but still having issues. I can watch fine on my iPhone and computer.
It bothers me that this problem has been apparant for over a year now but neither Apple or Netflix can seem to find a solution. I wish I could return this however the person who gave it to me lives with me and I can't do that to them. If I had bought this on my own, it would have been returned last week.

I just discovered error 112 for the first time yesterday. Had the problem again this evening, eventually got things working but not sure what did it or if it was just random. The last action that I performed prior to restoration of Netflix services was to logout of Netflix on my computer (not my ATV obvioulsy). I really don't believe that is what fixed the problem however.

Since this just started I don't have anything more to add, but I'll return to this thread when/if I do.

I got my ATV 3 weeks ago, and have had no real problems with Netflix until yesterday. Then the dreaded 112 error reared its ugly head. I could navigate all the menus, but nothing could be played on Netflix. Repeated trials and waiting several hours did not help. I did not appear to matter what show I was trying to watch; nothing worked. Meanwhile, I could watch Netflix instant stuff just fine on my MacBook Pro over the wireless LAN. The ATV is wired to the router.

Rebooting the DSL modem did not help. Rebooting the router did not help. Logging out of Netflix and back in again did not help.

I unplugged the ATV for a few minutes, and on restarting everything was fine.

I too have this issue, I reboot my router and ATV2 and that solves my issue. If this keeps up, I will purchase a different device. I love my Apple TV...I find it VERY HARD to believe that Apple and Netflix can't fix this issue. I know Netflix would like it if their program worked on our ATV2 since they are not selling their own hardware...But, I'm not sure about Apple who is selling movies and renting movies on the ATV2. I hate to think it, but Apple may not have a strong desire to make sure my Netflix works! Nonetheless, I WON'T BE RENTING or BUYING Apple movies I will just get a new device. I prefer Netflix over Apple movies service.

My first ever Apple device to have an issue.

I am very disappointed about the error 111 situation. I just bought the apple tv today and upon trying it for the first time was completely embarrassed about the error showing up. The netflix website just says that they are sorry for the inconvenience and to try back later. I've tried unplugging and rebooting and it still does not work. I am very disappointed since this is why I purchased apple tv and now it is not working. I hope that the problem gets resolved soon. Who wants a product that only works part of the time??

It's been two days for me as well and I keep getting the 111 error message for everything. I reset everything, logged out of Netflix and back in, and unplugged / replugged (which has worked in the past) and nothing has worked. I own a roku and that is working fine with Netflix? It must be an atv problem... Part of me is beginning to wonder why this happens so much on the weekends and if it's intended to steer people to iTunes?

I'd like to add my voice to this as well.

Since July 1, 2011 my Apple TV2 has been able to display images from Netflix but returns code (111) when I attempt to play anything.

Wiresharked the situation and its an Apple problem.

Netflix tried to help and says its an Apple problem.

Hope its related to the iCloud thing and is temporary.

I really like my Apple TV2 just miss the shows.

Don't bother unplugging and resetting the device.. I tried that, the problem is upstream.

I can report resolution, following similar steps as detailed by GoJets. After updating Apple TV software, the problem was resolved on this device. General-About on my Apple TV says Apple TV Software says: 4.2.2 (2203).

Before the update I had the same two patterns discussed in this thread around 11:00 PM ET, Saturday, July 2, 2011.

1 Error 111 displayed after selecting something to watch and clicking Play on Apple TV

2 Was able to watch the same content on my iPad

I called Netflix Customer Support to let them know that the ATV update appears to have resolved the problem. It is still working the next morning, so I am hopeful.

Let us know your results, after the ATV upgrade . . .

I tried a restore from the Apple TV 2 menu system which failed, version was 4.1.1

I tried a restore from iTunes on my PC with the Apple TV 2 attached via mini-usb cable, and no power cable to the Apple TV 2

It took about 8 minutes to download the code from Apple, then rebooted the Apple TV 2 a couple of times and finally told me to unplug it from the PC and plug it back into my TV.. note I never plugged the Apple TV 2 power cable in, it did this all from power over USB

Apple TV 2 reports version 4.2.2
