"Insecure Startup Item Disabled"??? how did this happen?

My battery is shot and no longer holds any charge so as soon as the power is disconnected it does a hard shutdown but every time i start it back up I get this error message starting with "insecure startup item disabled" and in the window it says "“/Library/StartupItems/Qmaster” has not been started because it does not have the proper security settings."

I know I have to get a new battery but How can I stop this popup window from coming up every time I have to start my computer up?

First, try repairing permissions. If Qmaster is properly installed then repairing permissions should fix the problem. If it doesn't then you will need to manually fix ownership and privileges on the startup item to fix it.

The problem arises because somehow the ownership and/or privileges have been changed on the startup item or the startup item is no longer compatible with the version of OS X you have installed.

Qmaster is a component of FCP. The current version is 3.5.2 and is part of the paid upgrade to the latest version of FCP.
