second: i have the lights staying on in logic when I choose "learn" for assigning the parameters. I got all 9 mute buttons to work. make sure you DOUBLE TAP the buttons. a single tap will cause it to not work properly when learning the parameter.
Think about it: if you've set the buttons to toggle, they send one message while pressing it (to turn on), and another message when you turn them off.
Make sure you are learning the right one for the parameter you want - it depends how you've set things up.
third: i am trying to figure out how the crap to get the solo, pan, and volume to be learned.. but as I'm new to Logic, I'm still trying to figure out how to change parameters to assign. don't laugh at me. :P
Not at all, this stuff isn't obvious and the small generic fader boxes are always a pain to set up - that's one big advantage you get when buying a proper control surface - stuff just works (properly) out of the box!
incompatible Plug-In: Please update the nanoKONTROL control surface plug-in.
Ok, you can download an updated version from the Korg website. But be aware, using the nano as a supported control surface is different to setting it up manually as a MIDI controller - Logic kinda "takes over" the nano and makes it do what the control surface setup tells it to do. The control surface module will be set up for you, but you won't be able to change much to your liking, as the control has been pre-mapped by Korg and can't be changed.
Do try the control surface module out though - if all you want is basic faders/mutes/pans etc, it works well enough.
