Netflix unavailable try again later???? WTH?

Never had any problems using Netflix but now I'm getting the spinning wheel of death and then "Netflix unavailable please try again later" message. Any ideas?

I had the same problem, but found a solution on the web. On you apple TV go to General>Network>Configure TCP/IP. Choose Manual Config. Change the DNS to 008.008.008.008.
If that doesn't work try 008.008.004.004. That last one worked for me. You dont have to change anything else. Apparently the glitch has to do with ow Netflix servers communicate with the Apple TV.

I hope this helps.

Neither worked. Unplugged it. Reset it. Restored it. Did everything you could possibly do, but it still doesn't work. I'm able to connect to the internet because I can get internet radio. This is what it says when I try to log in to Netflix:

Unable to sign in
Please re-log in to Netflix. If the problem persists please visit the Netflix website.

1. changed password on Netflix site then logged out. 2. ATV reset: Settings> General>Reset 3. after reset verify network connection. 4. sign into Netflix using only the handheld remote to enter Netflix user name and new password. Don't use ipad or iphone which is what I did initially.

Netflix support new nothing about the error and suggested contacting internet provider??

My Apple TV 2G was working perfectly fine. I made the mistake of upgrading to the new iOS and guess what? Now it doesn't work!

Netflix is extremely slow, the movies are freezing constantly, the UI is sluggish. * Apple? What is this? They totally screwed us up with this update dudes. I know its not my internet or my modem or my router because I have another Apple TV here that I did not upgrade that is working like a charm. I also have a Samsung Blu-Ray that has Netflix and I connected it and it is working like a charm as well but when I try to access Netflix or the Apple store movies with my Apple TV...nothing. Slow like ** and freezing. I am taking it back to the Apple store Saturday to get it exchanged for another one. The Apple TV has a 1 year warranty and I have only had it for 2 months. This is ridiculous.

Had this problem as well - found if I go to the apple movies> preview a movie then go back to netflix atv lets me access netflix - before doing this i went to general and tested the network and chose not sure for speed > then went to netflix > that cruddy message shows up > went to apple movies and did a preview of a movie > back to netflix and now it works. Has worked twice for me now so not sure where the glitch is but as long as I have found a solution I figured I would share with everyone here.

Unfortunately this does not so much sound like a solution, as a successful connection following several unsuccessful ones. The random nature of this issue is already established, but what is causing it is not - much less what can be done about it! We just wasted an entire evening responding to Netflix's "please try later" messages, which resulted in us watching the first 3 minutes of a series of movies we would rather have like to have watched...
