Can't Delete VPN Profile

Does anyone know how to delete a VPN profile in IOS 4? The manual says if you go to Settings -> General -> Network -> VPN and then pick the configuration profile by touching the blue arrow and then scrolling to the bottom and clicking the delete button you can delete a configuration profile. On my phone there is no delete button.

The reason I ask is that there is an existing profile that is not working when I try to add a new on with the same name it fails I suspect because one already exists. I also tried using the configuration utility but that did not work either.

iPhone 4, iOS 4

Check under Settings > General > Profiles.

If your VPN wasn't manually configured, it was configured using a configuration profile.
Check the installed profiles. One of them should contain a VPN payload.

Delete the profile to remove the VPN configuration.

I tried Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. VPN connections that I can't delete still appear.

Then I tried also the Settings > General > Profiles - but there is no "profiles" under settings > general on my iPhone 4s running 5.0.

Can anyone provide support/assistance just telling me how I can remove the dozens of VPN connections that were created using a configuration file I got from my VPN (I live in China and need one to get around the Great Firewall).

I had the same problem with a VPN app that installed 50+ VPN configs. It seemed that the configs were registered but not the VPN profile such that the removal of the configs is virtually impossible.

I tried the followings with no success:

- overwrite the VPN configs

- reset Network Settings

- reset All Settings

- factory reset with backup restore (factory reset with no backup restore it does work but it was not a solution for me)

Finally, I found a simple (not elegant) solution to get rid of the VPN configs:

How to delete a VPN profile in iOS

It's actually very easy but not obvious;

- Slide VPN switch to ON (you can't open the profile unless VPN is ON)

- Tap on the profile to open it

- Either scroll the prfile box upward OR hide the keyboard and you'll see a big red DELETE VPN PROFILE button, tap it and the profile is deleted.

I've learned over time that hiding the keyboard on some dialogs reveals things I've stumbled around for days trying to find answers to.

Fallatah previously posted : Go to Settings > General > Profile > remove unwanted VPN.

THIS FIXED MY IPAD NOT CONNECTING TO THE INTERNET. I tried every reset suggested all over this forum to no avail. My settings showed VPN as turned off. I did not show a VPN connection but when I clicked on the VPN tab in Settings, it showed a "Disconnect, Inc." so I clicked on the information "i" and, sure enough, there it was! I turned it off and was able to immediately connect thru Safarai and every other app. Then, I followed the above instruction to delete. When I scrolled through "General" I kept seeing "Disconnect" beside the "Profile" tab but I dismissed it thinking that it meant "disconnected." Not true! It was a VPN named "Disconnect." Clicked on Profile and there was the VPN named "Disconnect, Inc." No idea where this app came from but I deleted it. Thank you ALL for your help and suggestions!

I know this is a really old question, but I was wondering the same thing as I was trying to get rid of a lot of VPN profiles created by 12VPN. The answer in iOS 10 (at least in my case) was to go to Settings>General>Profiles & Device Management and delete the profile for your VPN, that deletes all the entries.
