Keyboard click volume fluctuation

This also happens on my new iPad, seems like software!

I've noticed a change when updating from 4.2.8 to 5.0, and moreso from 5.0.1 to 5.1. Keeps getting quieter. I personally either want them incredibly loud, or none at all. I also think it's software based, but that's only proven for one build of iOS.

I just had it where my key clicks and lock sound/alerts disappeared on my iPad 2. Went to the genius bar and they did a reset all settings which seemd to work where the click came back. Shortly after, the key clicks started getting quieter and I could not increase them even when moving the volume key up and down. I poked around and just discovered that there is a sound setting whereby you need to set the slider to 'on' so that when you adjust the volume key, your sounds (clicks and alerts) will adjust too.

Go to setting>general>sounds>change with buttons>slide this to 'on'

Your sounds will now adjust with your volume switch.

It's a good answer, but even with that, the keyboard clicks are still quieter in comparison to previous software versions (ex. iOS 4 vs 5)

Hmmm. Do you think what the genius bar did for me first would help?

Go to settings>general>reset>reset all settings.

This will not erase any of your data but you will have to key in your wifi password again to get going. Once that is done, you should hear the clicks and maybe the way they were with the older iOS.

My keyboard clicks seem to fluctuate randomly. I've tried hard resetting, which temporarily fixes the issue, but then remerges fairly soon. 😟

I have the same problem on my iPod touch 5 with ios 6.1.2

I have headphones on and when I'm texting the clicks are too loud

It's annoying

My 4s has the same fluctuation. The keys will freeze for a second then go quite.
