iTunes on iPad and how to gift songs in it

I have gifted songs from iTunes to my friends before, on my desktop but I can't seem to be able to do the same with tunes on iPad?
Is there a way for this?

iPad, iPhone OS 3.1.3, 64 gb wifi 3G.

HI,

Not sure if you can "gift" a song but you can purchase a gift card from your iPad.

Tap the iTunes icon. At the bottom of the iTunes window tap Support. Then tap *iTunes Gift Options* then tap *Purchase an iTunes Gift Card*.

In order to gift a song from your iPad, you would click the arrow next to the song’s Buy button, choose Gift This Song from the pop-up menu but I don't see the arrow on the iPad's iTunes window.

Yes, i know about the gift card. But you do know about the "send as gift" option, right?
In the iTunes on Mac Os, you could choose a song or album or app and can send it to some one else as a gift. I've done it quiet a few times.

I'm just unable to do this on my iPad!! Either ios don't have this functionality or I'm missing a step?

We cross posted.

As I mentioned in my last post, I don't see the "arrow" option for individual songs, just gift cards.

Thanks, I've found this link for the "send as gift" from apple support :

so it is an available option and I wasn't dreaming !!!

But still can't figure out how to get this on iPad?
I'm missing something so simple , I'll probably hit my forehead with a big "Doh!!" one I find out...

You're not missing anything. Gifting is not possible from the iTunes nor App Store app. You have to use iTunes on a computer. I have no idea whether this will change in a future update, though it seems like an obvious thing to add at some point. You can, if you wish, express your desire for this feature via Apple's feedback page:

It is possible. Open the app and press gift it under the menu. I have done this before but you need to have a credit card on the account.

How did you do this from iTune? I do not see any option to send a song to a friend as gift. Can you tell me exactly which options you have used? Thanks.

I doubt that the original poster is going to respond given that s/he posted a year and a half ago. I'd suggest you start your own thread with your question, making sure to detail what "iTune" you are referring to.
