iMovie 11 not saving audio edits
What's going on here?

This is a real, universal, major problem. Has anybody submitted this to bugreport.apple.com? It's lost me hours of work and is actually making it impossible to complete a video I've been working on for months. I'd love to see this fixed before I have to give up on this entire project.
Unbelievable, a bug identified in Novemeber 2010 and we're still having problems.
I have exactly the same issues, I'm going to have one last using @socialsix's suggestion. Like a lot of other users this has caused me more than just inconvenience, it has had serious repercussions on a project and has made ME look unprofessional to my client.
Not good enough from Apple!
iMovie 9.0.4 came out today, and the release notes say (among other things)
"fixes an issue where some audio adjustments were not preserved"
Let's hope this solves it!
Thanks for catching that! I will report back when I've had a chance to try it.
For those stuck with iMovie 9.0.2 like me, socialsix's solution works fine. Annoying and fiddly but if you don't re-view straight after making the audio edits and send straight to iDVD etc., iMovie will remember the adjustments.
As for Apple actually admitting the glitch or doing anything other than make us but new software... well I guess we can work THAT one out ourselves too...
I don't understand -- why are you "stuck" with 9.0.2? The update that came out yesterday is free.
Hey octothorpe! I just downloaded the updates but haven't had the chance to check on iMovie. have you? did it work? (I hope!!!! 🙂)
Haven't had a chance to try it out yet.
Anybody else?
At work right now, but can probably let you guys know tonight.
As far as I can tell, it's resolved. My audio adjustments survived timeline changes, going in and out of fullscreen playback, and quitting and relaunching the program. Looks like I'll actually be able to finish my project.
So glad for you! For all of us! I am very excited that it's fixed. Thank you, Apple!
Try detaching audio, then select the video clip; under clip select mute clip; then unmute; then mute. Then select the detached audio. Under the purple gear, select audio adjustments; then select your wanted volume. Under the detached audio, go under clips, mute, then unmute. Make sure your desired volume is selected under the detached audio; while the video is muted. This sounds weird, though it works after a few tries. I had the same problem. Good Luck!!
