Mac OS X 10.6.5 does not work with Asus Xonar U1 USB Sound Device anymore

Hey,

After installing Mac OS X 10.6.5 Update the system won't recognize my USB Sound Device anymore. While working with any other Version of OS X 10.6, the ASUS Xonar U1 does get power from USB, but won't be recognized as Sound Device, thus can't be selected as in or output.

The device itself is working perfectly with Windows 7 and any other OS, but not with 10.6.5.

Whats up with that?

1. Yes, plugged out and plugged in a few times - does not show up at sysprefs - even changed usb port
2. yep
3. does not show up

Only place i can actually see that the mac isnt ignoring the device completly is here:

Alright. After deleting the Driver "AsusUSBAudio.kext" I could use my Xonar U1 again. Unfortunately, re-installing the driver brought back the inital problems. Seems like ASUS has to re-do their driver.

Re-Installing it brought back the problems.

Can you just use it without installing the driver?

Did you try unplugging it and plugging it back in?
Restarting and then plugging it in?
Does it show up in your Audio Midi program?

Hmm, I seem to have the same problem. Reinstalling the Asus driver doesn't work either.

Interesting in that your topic subject is reversed in content. 10.6.5 works but your Asus Xonar U1 USB Sound Device doesn't work with it.

You may need to remove a driver in:
/System/Library/Extensions

De-Installing the driver was the solutin. Re-Installing it brought back the problems. Asus has to do a new driver.

Yes, but not with all the fine features I once had. Reported it to ASUS.

As I am on 10.6.5 and has a Asus U1 as well.
I would like to know if there is a driver now for it.

On my 10.4 iBook, I successfully install and use, but does not work on my iMac with 10.6.
Will the Xonar U1 has not released drivers for 10.6?

After updating to 10.6.6 the problem not disappear? I want to purchase this card, but now I doubt .. Are there any new drivers?

Suprising that there no longer any Mac drivers on the Asus support subsite. Fortunately, I had downloaded them before they took them down. Seems like they may have dropped Mac support.
