iPad just stopped working; will not turn on

Thank you so much for the info that it was the on/home buttons you hold down 10+ seconds. It worked and I have my iPad back. I was freaking out, it worked when I put it down for the night.

Many thanks! Just happened to me this morning. One of my kids iPads ( I have 3 in total) just stopped working all of a sudden. We are travelling tomorrow for a quite long trip and I was counting on them to keep my kids busy among other activities. Just before I head to the Apple store, I thought I better check the net in case someone encounters same issue. And thank Goodness, the first forum game me the answer and it worked! Awesome! Genius - I was about to take my ipad to the doctors after it stopped dead overnight while I was asleep. Your solution worked a treat.

Worked fine! Have a relative travelling in Europe and using Facetime to call home, so this has been a fast fix that worked perfectly!

Just had the same issue with my wifes iPad ......just would not work 😕, had a read on these discussion pages ......Hold power button in and at the same time press button on the screen ....15 seconds later it starts up 🙂

Downloaded iTunes Haloween music and the IPad just went blank. Made sure it was charged, still blank. Pressed both buttons and it came back to life.

Great, but the question is why? Maybe ghosts of Halloween?
