Just wanted to add my experience here. I live in the US and have had league pass broadband for two years. Just last week with the apple tv update I got nba on my atv. Yay! Or, sort of:
-While the video quality is higher than on my Macbook pro screen, it is also decidedly flakier. I've watched or tried to watch about 5 games on atv so far, and OVER half the time it doesn't work smoothly. In fact sometimes a game will simply fail to load or quit in the middle. Very disappointing; on the other hand, I imagine they'll need a few weeks to iron out the bugs. I have had some flakiness while viewing games on my computer, but never this bad.
-Part of the problem may be bandwidth requirements. Since the video quality is far superior (looks like hd to me--I have a panasonic plasma hdtv), the atv version must have higher data needs than the broadband version. Although I have fios, I suppose its possible my router is simply not feeding the video to the atv fast enough. Must check on that somehow...
Note: my atv is hooked up to my fios router by ethernet, not wireless.
-Blackouts. FYI to those who asked about them above: if a game is on national tv (espn, tnt, etc.) then it will NOT be shown on nba league pass--broadband, atv, or any other. Also, you can NOT see your local franchise's games on league pass (I'm in Boston and I can't get Celtics games). This is of course due to the byzantine cable tv contracts the teams and league sign. Sigh. It's not such a problem for me because I mostly follow my old hometown team, which is a thousand miles away. (They know who your local franchise is by checking your IP address, I believe.)
