NBA League Pass and ATV

If you have apple tv and have NBA league pass broadband, which gives you the luxury of viewing NBA games on your computer, will you be able to use ATV to stream the games on your television?

Also, I know of the airplay feature and the NBA mobile app, which will allow you to watch games on your iPhone...what will the quality of such games being "Airplayed" to your tv via ATV be?

Thanks

can someone explain mlb.tv and nba league pass. Do you get playoff games / championship games with these or just regular season? Also, how does the blackout work? If they are showing the game on fox sports or a local station, would it be blackout on apple tv? I really only have cable for sports and this thing might be my answer to get rid of it if it works like having the channel / watching the games

if you order the permium package for EUR 99,- available in Europe you get (as of today) all remaining games plus all playoffs and finals. plus video on demand - meaning you can watch all games at all times again and again (rewinding, fast forward etc.) so you can watch the Celtics beating the Lakers on their home turf over and over again.

from what I remember, some commercials are included, but not all. and yes, you get the live feed (maybe a few seconds delayed due to technical issues.)

Well, it is again absurd. Technology is a wonderful thing but the legal framework and TV rights seem to be in the way again in this case. As an international broadband NBA league pass, I have paid my dues, I have also paid for the NBA Game Time App. I can watch games on my iPad, iPhone and MacBook, I can connect my MacBook to my TV and watch games live and in HD. Why doesn't the ATV enable me to do so? It would be much easier and better to just watch the game(s) on my TV with ATV, now I have to continue going through the MacBook...... ....why is it so difficultUser uploaded file

This is the answer from the NBA League Pass Support:

"Hello,
At this time NBA International League Pass does not have an Apple TV application.
Future support for the Apple TV and other connected devices is in the works, but we do not have a timeline for release just yet. Stay tuned for updates on connected device and Apple product support.
If you have any more questions please let us know.
Best regards,
NBA League Pass"

That reply from support is disappointing.

The technology is obviously there if is available on US ATVs so why they aren't allowing it in Europe is beyond me. It's not a blackout restrictions/broadcasting rights thing as they already allow us to watch the games live on various devices anyway through our International League Pass subscriptions. It's just laziness on their behalf that they haven't bothered to bring ATV functionality to users outside the United States.

What address did you e-mail out of interest? I meant send them one as well enquiring as to why they haven't bothered to bring support for ATV users outside the US, and I suggest everyone does the same!

They answered the same thing to me: "At this time NBA International League Pass does not have an Apple TV application.
Future support for the Apple TV and other connected devices is in the works, but we do not have a timeline for release just yet."
I asked them to implement also airplay video for NBA Game Time, so we can stream matches from iphone to aTV2, they answered me that they revert the matter to the developer group and if they consider it of interest for much people they will implement, so I suggest as Murkzilla that all of us should write these requests opening a ticket from here http://nbalpsupport.neulion.com/

Just wanted to add my experience here. I live in the US and have had league pass broadband for two years. Just last week with the apple tv update I got nba on my atv. Yay! Or, sort of:

-While the video quality is higher than on my Macbook pro screen, it is also decidedly flakier. I've watched or tried to watch about 5 games on atv so far, and OVER half the time it doesn't work smoothly. In fact sometimes a game will simply fail to load or quit in the middle. Very disappointing; on the other hand, I imagine they'll need a few weeks to iron out the bugs. I have had some flakiness while viewing games on my computer, but never this bad.

-Part of the problem may be bandwidth requirements. Since the video quality is far superior (looks like hd to me--I have a panasonic plasma hdtv), the atv version must have higher data needs than the broadband version. Although I have fios, I suppose its possible my router is simply not feeding the video to the atv fast enough. Must check on that somehow...
Note: my atv is hooked up to my fios router by ethernet, not wireless.

-Blackouts. FYI to those who asked about them above: if a game is on national tv (espn, tnt, etc.) then it will NOT be shown on nba league pass--broadband, atv, or any other. Also, you can NOT see your local franchise's games on league pass (I'm in Boston and I can't get Celtics games). This is of course due to the byzantine cable tv contracts the teams and league sign. Sigh. It's not such a problem for me because I mostly follow my old hometown team, which is a thousand miles away. (They know who your local franchise is by checking your IP address, I believe.)

Does Nba league pass include Playoffs too? or just regular season games?
Because since you said if it is televised nationally (espn. tnt, etc) then it will be consider blackout.. so most playoff are televised nationally .. so that mean NBA league pass DO NOT include playoff then?? correct me if i am wrong..

Considering to buy NBA-league pass-broadband for my applet TV2.

So I just bought the league pass today and invited some friends to watch the latest Lakers game. We ended up not watching anything because of the problem with ILP. Ofcourse I didn't know that because my ATV2 clearly said, to get a login just go to nba.com/appletv. That´s what I did and I signed up in Sweden with no problem. I e-mailed asking why and got the same answers that you all got. I was very ****** off since it doesn't say anywhere on nba.com that its not possible to watch ILP on ATV2. I answered that e-mail by saying that I bought the ILP solely because I wanted to watch it on my big HD tv. Not on my computer. And that I wanted a full refund since it doesn't say anywhere that ILP can´t watch on ATV2.

I´ve been ****** of all day. Thanks NBA and Apple 😟

I saw the site dedicated to the American League Pass and can be reached only if you use a proxy server based in the United States, European users that pointing its browser at nba.com / appletv are redirected to another site specifically packaged to be not compatible with American services (appletv etc.).
Why is there this discrimination?
Perhaps the reason is due to auction television rights in Europe?
I do not want to pay the viewing rights at the broadcasters, I want to buy them regularly by those holding them, so the NBA, MLB, NFL, SerieA, Bundesliga, Premier League, etc. ..
