No. Those that are unhappy come here to complain and whine. You'll notice how many of the complainers and whiners have only a handful of posts. Those that are pleased are happily enjoying the IOS update.

lol, did you ever think that's because those are people that don't like to hang out on forums, but only do when there's something they feel SO STRONGLY about they have to find a way to say something?

I think it's funny how you act like people who don't have a lot of posts is a bad thing. Is it hard to connect that People who hang out on apple forums = hard core apple fans = people who are happy with whatever Apple decides? That's all fine, but bring on the "whiners" en masse to help get Apple's attention.

My "life" includes working on airplanes, some of which you might have flown on.

I use the iPad for schematics and other drawings. It consists of finding the right file, which is much easier in landscape mode, opening it and finding the right section, switching to portrait so I get a full view and locking the rotation. As the manuals can be thousands of pages long, this process gets repeated many times per hour. The surfaces I put it down on are seldom flat and having the page flip can be time consuming at best and hazardous at worst. The software switch is not an acceptable substitute! The iPad was suited for and bought for this task. Now it doesn't work.

Just because you only use yours for watching reruns of Glee, doesn't mean that there aren't other people using the device to it's fullest potential.

I agree. I want the rotation lock back! It is very irritating to me that an "update" reduces the functionality for my iPad. There are many, many times that I use the rotation lock - especially as my wiggly five year old son uses the iPad! I have never desired to go "off reservation" in the past, but if someone designs a fix for this - I will use it.
