How to get the switch back to LOCK mode

Ok, I hate that Mute thing, I want my Lock screen back...how do I do that?

I have several apps, that are sentive for rotating screen, so I used that button.
also when I am on a bumpy road... the darn screen keeps flipping on me..

HELP

I thought I would hate the change. But now that I have used this for a while, it is very handy. Why? Because you can mute notifications with the screen locked/off. There is no reason to lock/unlock the screen orientation when the display is off...

I find I leave the display locked in landscape 98% of the time anyway.

Twice I have been reading at night, switched the iPad off, and heard a new email notification. So I click the switch, and it is quiet.

So, I thought I would not like the change -- but I actually do.

Of course, it would be nice to have this as an option since many people really do not seem to like this.
