See if it makes a difference.

BB CAT, no, theres is no diference with that profile installed.

I've come from the Apple Store and... with the WIFI connected all the time (and the IPhone active, with the screen turned on, but without doing anything), the consumption is 1% each 20 minutes. And with the IPhone sleeping, more than 30 minutes. I had to go so maybe, in the second case, the exact time will be more than this 30 minutes.

It seems that there is something in my router that there isn't in the Apple Store's router, or viceversa. Tomorrow I will go to the Genius Bar and ask them...

well my problem with my iPhone 4 16Gbyte is even better:

- bought 06.12.2010
- iOS 4.2.1
- no 3g
- no wifi(except when needed)
- no bt (except when needed)
- no push email
- no push from apps (apart from navigon)

until last thursday morning the standby time was about 6 days (yes I don't use it much!) then I needed to charge it and all of a sudden the battery drained like mad!!!
unfortunatly I can't recall the apps I automatically updated and I switched video sync on (for 3 vids approx. 3minutes long each).

Find my Phone, FoneHome and Tracker Pro were on my iPhone before and never caused a massive drain (as I said: 6 days standby)!

and now: go figure Apple where the bug is! :-P

Compared my 2 devices, now I realized that the phone is still "active" (pulling email periodically) when it's supposed to be "sleeping". That's why the battery continues to drain when it's not used by user.

Please try :
1. Turn OFF PUSH email
2. Set email checking to "manual".

Battery drain should slow down after this.

Once you have it under control, then you can adjust the setting. But, keep the auto email pull to a minimum. Just check one account that you care about. And set all other email account to "manual".

So I just completed my final test. I basically turned off everything that a person could, including:
*bluetooth
*location services
*notifications
*auto-brightness
*3G
*wifi
*all email is pull only
*Turned off all cellular data services & roaming
*no apps running
*turned on airplane mode and didn't touch it...

100%charged @ 1:30p
3%charge @ 7:30a this morning. That pretty well seals it for me. When I'm back stateside I'm taking it back to apple for a refund.

I have gone to the Genius Bar this morning. They have checked my phone, and all is ok. The one and only solution is... to have a new phone from Apple, and to pray for it has a firmware prior to 4.2 😟

So, I have a phone that:

1- Losses 3G signal and it only recovers it after several hours (it's a problem that I haven't mentioned before, because it isn't the subject of this thread).

2- I cannot use my WIFI connection, because my battery's life decreases like a mad.

So I have, technicaly, a GPRS phone with the ability to play MP3. I'm thinking seriously in selling it and buying an Android one, altough I will lose all the applications for I have paid for 😟

I'm very very dissapointed with Apple...

I did a factory reset, restored it to a new phone.
I then re-installed my apps and sync-ed my data back.

Guess what? 3 days later the drain starts again.

after a couple of days looking around for solutions, and re-reading this thread entirely i came to this conclusion:
a lot of us (including me) are travelling (out of their carrier s country?) while having the battery drain issue
the "import sim contacts" from the mail, calendar etc.. menu is flashing in lots of cases

I thought something might be wrong with the contact syncing so I turned my data roaming on to allow whatever sync needed to happen to happen here (abroad).
And it worked.
Result:
drain stopped immediately
import sim contacts button stopped flashing immediately

My gutfeel is that even if you desactivate the push / fetch, your contacts app tries to sync its content all the time (immediately? after a couple of days? i do not know the details), and that might cause the flashing button.

Hope this helps and saves a couple of hard resets to everyone ...

Ok, I installed the configuration profile suggested, turned off push activesync email and turned off find my iPhone for a few days. Then 3 days ago I turned everything back on and so far the phone is back to normal!

Today, I have used 14 hours of standby and 1 1/2 hours of usage and the battery is only at 78%!

Fingers crossed that is stays that way 🙂
