iOS 4.2.1 - can't sort events anymore in Photos app?

I have an iPhone 4 running iOS 4.2.1, and I'm using iTunes 10.1 and iPhoto '11 (9.1) on OS X 10.6.5.

In iPhoto on my computer, I have Events sorted newest to oldest, and it showed up that way on my iPhone before the iOS 4.2.1 update. Since updating, Events will only stay sorted oldest to newest, and no matter what I try (changing sort order and back in iPhoto, syncing in between changing sort order, restarting iPhone, etc...) I can't seem to get my iPhone to reflect the sort order that shows in iPhoto.

Is anyone else experience this problem? And more importantly, has anyone found a fix for this? I don't understand why iOS 4.2.1 would break photo sorting if there were no changes made to the Photos app.

Similar problem. Before updating from iOS 4.1 to 4.2.1, all my photo events were sorted alphabetically per my settings in iPhoto on my Mac. Now all events are sorted by date, with the most recent first. I want them sorted alphabetically.

I tried re-syncing, removing all pictures from the iPhone, and deleting the iPod photo cache as has been suggested here. Each time, the photo events come back sorted by date.

@wjosten: It doesn't seem to make sense that updating iPhoto would fix the issue for msub, since there was zero indication from Apple that that would be necessary. Additionally, I'm running the newest iPhoto, updated with all the patches, and am still showing the same issue. The fact that this issue happened after upgrading to iOS 4.2.1 for everyone can't be a coincidence, seeming to indicate that the iOS update is the cause of the issue, not the version of iPhoto, iTunes, and/or OS X.

I'm having a similar problem, however, my photos when viewed on the iPhone using iOS 4.2.1 are completely random. All of my events are jumbled. The events are still there, but the photos in the events will be a mixture of all the photos in iPhoto. It appears that the correct NUMBER of photos are in the events, but the photos themselves could be anything.

The same thing happened to me. I was on a mission yesterday to fix it, but didn't get it to work. I have 1 more thing i want to try... but haven't had a chance.

Has anyone fixed this?

My plan is to unsync photos to remove them from my phone, delete all the photo cache information from the iPhoto Library package, empty the trash, reboot my computer AND iPhone, open iPhoto to make sure they're sorted correctly, and then sync my phone. If that doesn't fix it... i dont know, i might call Apple.

There was a new iPhoto update to 9.1.1 but that unfortunately did not fix anything, even though I was hoping it might since the changelog mentioned "iPhoto now correctly preserves the sort order of Events after upgrading a library". Small hope, since it seems like the error is in the iOS software, so it looks like we'll have to keep waiting.
