Ipad crashes after 4.2 update

Has anyone had a problem with having to restore your Ipad's. I had never had to restore my ipad before I installed the new 4.2. Today my Ipad crashed and I had to restore the entire Ipad and reinstall all of my apps. Why did this happen? I have never had this problem before the new update. Anyone else having this issue? Please help.

My brand new Wifi iPad (iOS 4.2.1) crashed hard today with battery at 76%. Just using it to browse net when it went black and unresponsive. Plugged into MacBook and did not show in iTunes 10.1. Plugged into charger and nothing. Thought it had died and tried Home + Power button reset. At third go, powered up normally with no need to restore.
Not a good experience—hope it is a 4.2.1 issue and not a latent hardware fault.

While I'm happy to hear I'm not the only having this issue I'm a bit ****** that Apple hasn't fixed it.

List of apps that crash regularly:
Mail
Amplitube (IK Multimedia says they cannot recreate the problem)
Hootsuite

Even have issues without 3rd party software installed.

And Apple better not say reset. Also reset / restored as well as wiped and installed apps manually.

Apple, please fix this!

something is going on with 4.2.1 and exchange and/or push. My corporate email was down and I had to delete and add my account. That worked ok but since then my ipad crashed and then went into a loop where every 2 minutes, almost exactly, the apps (all of them) crash and return to the home screen. I restored several time and finally determined that as soon as I add my corporate exchange account back in, either manually or part of a restore, it goes into a loop. I can't even open the email settings one I add the account. So something is very wrong and I don't see a fix anywhere. I think apple is keeping it under wraps. This has caused me many problems and severely impacts my productivity.

more info: I turned push off and it allowed me to get back into my email but nothing was in the inbox. I then went back to settings and I can't even delete the account. The only option is to erase all the data which removes the email account.

What gives? This is a very basic function that shouldn't be broken and I'll be ****** if I am going to pay for apple to support me and fix this problem. I own several of every device they make including two Ipads, imacs, etc.
