MP4 does not work on 5th gen Ipod?

I recently changed my 4th gen Ipod to a new 5th generation 60GB video ipod. I wanted to be able to use all my video’s I have on my powerbook on the road. I have a lot of MP4 video’s I converted with handbrake from video_TS to useful MP4 formats to be played on my new ipod.
When I copied those to my library in itunes 6.0.1 they appeared in the video folder as they should, I copied 8 different films as a test, they all work fine in itunes. Strange it was when I connected my ipod that only 4 of those 8 got copied to it.
Those 4 play well on my ipod, but what happened to the other 4? Why are they not copied to it?
I tried to delete all movies a little later and only tried to copy one of the non working Mp4 files to see what would happen, nothing, no movie on ipod.
What is happening?

Wonder if you have the disposition for a discussion site like this that doesn't encourage the kind of tone in the respones you have posted in this thread.

The "tone" of my response is a matter of the perception of the reader -- an opinion for which I take neither umbrage nor credit.

Or maybe just a bad day for you.

That too is possible.

Shouldn't be so intolerant of others who either need information or have a different point of view.

It is difficult to help someone who repeated and/or pointedly refuses to provide specific information about their problem yet requires specific solutions. After all, would you demand your physician medicate you for a condition whose symptoms you refuse to divulge?

As to my comments regarding PQ DVD, I was merely pointing out that your limited experience with 30-40 clips is a relatively small sample population on which to negate the possibility that the originator's problem might stem from movie content and that, even if theoretically "correct" settings were being used, they might need to be modified to some extent. Of the last thousand or so clips I've converted during this year alone, only 6 (or roughly 0.6%) caused sever headaches. (Ergo, my "different point of few from yours.) I don't doubt your veracity here. In fact, I would expect it. However, you cannot universally negate the possibility that you may, at one time or another, experience similar problems. To some extent, the process of proper conversion is as much of an art in practical application as the programming that went into the conversion utility itself. What I am trying to say to everyone is no converter should be expected to work 100% of the time just as no converter should be considered totally without merit. You use the best tool for the job at hand and should use it to the best of your ability. After all, if a job is worth doing at all, it should be worth doing well.

So much for "homespun philosophy."
