I can no longer leave an app review in the iTunes store

I can no longer leave an app review in the iTunes store.

After I sign in, and want to leave a review I get the following message: "You must own this item to write a Customer Review. In order to write a Customer Review for this item you must have purchased or downloaded it."

I used to be able to write and edit my reviews which I have done! But now I can't anymore even though I have bought and/or downloaded several apps. iTunes won't let me write a review anyway.

Any help is appreciated.

Mac OS X (10.5.8)

This is incredibly frustrating. Review this app seems to be the only place it's happened to me. iTunes is ok. App Store purchases are ok. This user group is ok. I've changed my password twice in the last 2; hours, thinkjng I might have tripped a barricade because of typos or something, but it makes no difference.


I wonder if the fact that I'm trying to leave a review for a Google app - giving it 5 stars but comparing it to the Borg - has anything to do with it? ;-)

I actually got Support to take a look at it. After a month of working with them (convincing them there really was a problem, even though they were able to leave 2 reviews using my credentials and continuously having to ask for updates, which were non-productive), I gave up.


I still have the issue.


I've got 2 tickets: 285824334 & 496693516. Knock yourself out.

I think reviews are very important for both customers and developers and it's not just a minor inconvenience, but a serious problem;


Normally yes, but reviews on iTunes are all one-way. I often read reviews on iTunes and have an easy solution for the person writing the bad review but there's no way to communicate back to that poor reviewer.


On Amazon, people can write comments, or suggestions, or fixes on the Amazon reviews. I prefer to buy my software on disk if possible, otherwise I look at Amazon. The ability to comment on a review is powerful.

Oh good, I thought it was just me.


Clicking "Be the first to review" takes me to "Write a Review". But there's nowhere to do that. Clicking the empty bar below "Write a review" gets me nowhere, and nothing else looks like a possible field to write in.


Imagine downloaded the worst app you've ever paid for, then being unable to warn other people away. Frustration on top of frustration!!!
