How to reset forgotten Restrictions password with iPhone restore?

I was struggling with this thing all day. I did what the instructions had said to do and couldn't find the SBParentalControlsPin string and then it dawned on me "Is it possible that the PIN is the default 0000." Lo and behold, that was it!

For anyone trying to figure out why the SBParentalControlsPin string doesn't show up, try 0000 (zero, zero, zero, zero). It worked for me!

I'm getting -37 error, and i found out that's why i need to disable "find my iphone", BUT, i can't do this because one of my restrictions - wich i don't remember the fu***ing password - it's just to don't allow to disable "find my iphone"... so, what do i do? any suggestions??

i don't care about loosing all my stuff and data, i just want to get access to my iphone =/

You will have to remember your Apple ID password or reset it. There is no way around this; it is the antitheft feature of iOS 7 (and there is a bill in the US congress to require all phones to have this feature).

If you don't remember your Apple ID pasword (which is strange, because you needed it to post to this forum) go to https://iforgot.apple.com and try one of the several methods for resetting your password.

I do remember my Apple ID password.

I'm talking about the 4-digit restriction code, the one that you access in Settings > General > Restrictions

AND, inside this area, we have the option to restrict the "Find My iPhone" option for disable it. So that is my problem, for my own safety, I restricted this option and some others, as delete apps, camera, etc.

So I am stuck now, because "Find my iPhone" option is enabled, and i can't disable it, because i just don't remember my 4-digit restriction code.

Go to https://icloud.com/find. Erase your phone, then delete it from the account. This will remove the Find my iPhone and Activation Lock.

worked with iphone 5s running ios 7.0.5. I used i file to edit plist. saved, respring and everything good now.

Yeh I have the same ****** problem... Im sure some badass apple nerd out there knows what program to use to get into the backup (program like notepad ++ i got that btw) and delete the restriction password. Than back it up and all problems shall be solved.

Plz tell me where to find that restriction file thx.

I followed these instructions very carefully but iBackupBot hung on restore towards the end. Maybe something has changed with iOS7 since you posted this back in 2013.

Well, you guys are one of the lucky ones. I am on my sister's iPod trying to fox it and she has restricted her App Store and iTunes. Anyone?!

hey. I forgot my restriction code, ok. really dumb.

I got a brandnew shiny 5s and updated it from icloud, but what? the restriction code updated along with the rest of my stuff. I don't want the restriction code any more, I thought restoring from the cloud was the answer? help/sigh/

The Restriction code is saved in the backup so you have to Restore it as a new device.

I have a restrictions passcode on there too. I tried restoring the iPod and there will be 2 options: Set as a new iPod or Restore from last backup. Try choosing set as new iPod.
