Resetting Game Center password

When the Game Center terms and conditions changed, I was prompted for password entry. After three fails, I started getting the message "The Apple ID you entered has been disabled for security reasons."

I reset my apple password, but when I log into Game Center, I get the same error message (disabled for security reasons).

The Game Center ID is my email address (and differs from my apple id). Is there a way to reset the *Game Center password*? I am not interested in resetting my apple ID (I've already done that).

This worked for me:

On the page where it doesn't allow you to log in with you Apple ID because the username or password is incorrect, select the button that says 'Create New Account'.

Make sure you re-enter all of your correct information. For your email address use the one that you think you signed up with GameCenter with. (Most likely the iTunes Account email address that you use the most.)

For your password, or in your case the "Forgotten Password", it shouldn't be one that is specific to GameCenter like you think it is. It is not necessary to have at least 8 letters and no 3 consecutive terms and at least one number and blah-di-dah-di-blah. It should simply just be your iTunes Account password. Nothing special.

And Voila! Sign back in and you're good to go!

I really hoped this helped, I was going through the same problem and thought that I would share my information with you(:

Apple decided to change the password format requirement and make it look like your account was hacked with the ridiculous message that your account has been disabled for security purposes. While I can appreciate an added measure of security, I don't appreciate not being notified of this security change. Some of us have active identity theft cases open and we rely on these notices to assist in reconciling our accounts appropriately. Apple, get your act together or you'll find out how quickly Android gets my business.

I think the issue might be that the Nickname you are using is already taken. I ran into the same problem and decided to do as others have suggested and create a new login. When I did that and then tried to use the same Nickname I was using before, it told me that the nickname was already being used. Once I chose a nickname that wasn't already being used, it let me create the account and move forward.

Hello everyone. I was having the exact same problem.😢 Forgot my password and was unable to sign back into my Game Center account.

ℹOn Game Center sign in screen, just click "Create New Account." I entered the exact same email that I had used before, and same personal information. It alerted me that ⚠the email address was already in the system and if I wanted to use this again. I clicked "yes." After clicking the "Agree" button, my previous Apple ID was active again and I was able to sign in.

Hope this helps. Good luck!😉

i went to the iforgot my id page and entered in the apple id along with the first/last name (luckily i was friended to him so i could see the name connected to the id)

for some reason it says the name is not associated with the apple id,i tried to create a new id and i used the same exact info but it says the apple id is already taken therefore that is the id for the account

next i entered in the apple id in to the i know my apple id section of the iforgot page then clicked send password through email but for some reason it didnt send it to that email account

when i did the same thing for my other gamecenter account it sent the email to my inbox like it should.......

im very angry.

cant remember my email or password for gamecenter.

it keeps telling me to enter my apple id, i enter it (which im 100% sure is right!), and it says ive gotten it wrong.

i went to the app store, signed in, and IT IS THE RIGHT LOGIN.

why does it have to be so difficult? just let me log in with my stupid apple id and be done with this problem.

i really want to log in, because i have a lot of high scores and i dont want to lose them by making a new account!

i need a solution, none of your stuff is working (people who replied with a solution) it doesnt work.

and apple clearly doesnt solve any problems i ever have on this website.

If you remember you orginal email that you used for Game Center and the name that it was under (usually your real name that you use for Itunes) go to https://appleid.apple.com/ then to get the password reset. Later go back to Game Center and USE your original email plus your new resetted password to log in, YOU DON'T NEED your Apple ID to log into Game Center. This has worked for me. NOTE: your email for resetting the password will have the name you have that email address attached to.

If you DON'T remember what email you used, then go to your actual account and see what email you have listed under your real apple ID.

Go here to see your account: https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/227/wo/ySTFnwnuAkjyTx aE4tPw40/24.0.35.145.1.0.8

If those emails don't look familar to you or you've used another email address, at least at that point you can do the elimination process and try to figure out what other email addresses you've used.

If you STILL DON'T remember what email you used then do this:

1. Go into Game Center log in with your Apple ID and password like you do for Itunes.

2. Create a new account

3. When you get to the add email section then add an email a time to see if it takes it. If it doesn't then it will say that this email belongs to another Apple ID. BINGO... that's your old email you were looking for.

4. Go up to the beginning of this blog, to figure out the password.

Okay, I pray and pray and pray this all works for you. I definitely know your pain.

I have exactly the same problem and have been trying to resolve for 2 days. Here is the fact pattern:

- This is a gamecenter ID not and Apple ID. (Not sure if they are the same thing).

- This is a child's gamecenter ID which means there may be no email address associated with the account.

I called the applecare technical support team yesterday and said I was willing to pay for whatever was needed to resolve this situation. They pointed me to a website https://expresslane.apple.com/. They walked me through the options to initiate the help request. That email submission led me to a person who pointed me to the online appleID reset page. When that didn't work he pointed me back to expresslane.

I have tried multiple times to reset/change the password through gamecenter and get a message saying the answer to the security question is incorrect. I've also tried to re-register the same account but it says the account name is taken. I try to do this a couple of times and I get locked out. This seems to be very difficult without an email address (or unknown email address) associated with this childs gamecenter ID.

Any help is appreciated - this is a lot more difficult than it should be.
