Resetting Game Center password

When the Game Center terms and conditions changed, I was prompted for password entry. After three fails, I started getting the message "The Apple ID you entered has been disabled for security reasons."

I reset my apple password, but when I log into Game Center, I get the same error message (disabled for security reasons).

The Game Center ID is my email address (and differs from my apple id). Is there a way to reset the *Game Center password*? I am not interested in resetting my apple ID (I've already done that).

This worked to reset my daughter's Game Center forgotten password...

Apparently I forgot that I set up her original Game Center account without an email address or Apple ID (I've slept since then). After trying unsuccessfully to reset her Game Center password on the iforgot page through the Apple ID account she now has, I entered her Game Center NICKNAME in the "Apple ID" field on iforgot. After then entering her birthday and security question correctly, I was able to reset the password. I immediately went to Game Center and logged in using her nickname (for the Apple ID) and new password. All previous Game Center data was restored!

I had a similar problem, for those who cannot get Game Center to communicate with the Apple servers, go here for a solution:

Scroll down until you see the instructions for the Terminal commands, and remember that you need to hit the control key to make the commands work, NOT the command key!

This worked for me! I kept trying to login with my game center nickname but when I tried your steps above I realized that I had an apple ID that used a separate email account for a login. Once I signed in using that I was able to reset my password and now I'm back. The above steps worked perfectly to restore my children's accounts as well! I had given up finding a solution after spending an hour on the phone with Apple with no resolution. Thank you for sharing!
