how to check firmware version without unpacking iphone4?

my iphone4 bought online through singapore apple store
my serial no : 870466N4AS4

from what i learnt from internet
870 should be factory ( singapore or china i guess)
46 means 46th week (10th to 16th November)
6N4 (unique code)
AS4 means iphone4

iOS 4.2 Release Date: November 22 2010

so from logical thinking
my iphone 4 should be either OS 4.0 or 4.1 right?

thanks

If you know the week when 4.1 was released and then 4.2.1, and i'm assuming week 46 was not too long ago so I would assume that it would come with 4.1 pre-installed?

Just an F.Y.I, we are on week 48, so it seems like your phone was built 2 weeks ago, which the 4.2.1 came out 2 weeks ago, but most likely you will have 4.1 on it.

i was figuring are there anyway to know the exact firmware version 'without unpacking' the phone

but it turns out that serial number don really tells the firmware version

then i tried to check the firmware 'without activating' the phone
also failed

then i just activated and check , sad -.-
