OK, I didn't see this post:
iBook G4 sound balance issue... never resolved.
"never" implies all machines have this issue, because it is a nul argument. I've seen plenty of iBook G4s whose sound balance is not an issue.
MacBook White stains easily... Apple says we all have dirty hands
This as a matter of fact has been addressed by at least some stores. They have been known to replace some cases.
MacBook White casing cracks... Apple says we don't know how to open and close our laptops
They have been known to replace some cases in some stores.
Defective main-boards... Apple says plenty, none of it productive until finally a recall was issued
What's your complaint if there is a recall? In fact, Apple's recall if you call it that is stepping above and beyond its call to duty, since some users are known to do something really bad, which is trip over their cables, or try to pull cables out or push them in at an angle. The USB ports on the mainboard as well as Firewire ports both have fiberglass circuitry that can easily get broken by improper plugging or unplugging of cables. With the warranty itself only covering Apple defects, whenever a logicboard is replaced at AppleCare's expense, there is always a bit of benefit of doubt given those users. OK, maybe you are complaining that it isn't consistantly administered. Well if a user comes in shouting and angrily blaming Apple, how likely do you think the technician is going to believe the user is not at all at fault, if they can't control their temper? How much more likely are they going to get the benefit of the doubt. Now if that's not you, and you still didn't get service, well, that might be subject for customer relations. But understand, when you deal with hearsay about issues, you don't know what the actual interaction was between the user and the technician. So you can't guarantee that there wasn't some obvious point that the user made it look more easy to blame than not.
We can't really guess Apple's policy here, since Terms of Use here forbid us from doing so. We can though see it from our own understanding of the bigger picture. And maybe it might help if you did too.
iPhones, poor reception... Apple says we're holding them wrong
Apple did offer covers for the iPhone to help in reception issues.
And back to your Google search, remember it is a weighted search. You look for complaints, you'll see mainly complaints. You look for success, you'll see mainly success. Its when you read the consumer advocacy magazines, and you see how profitable Apple is, that it is really hard to believe they aren't looking out for quality. Sure there are mistakes, but they are not as systemic as you make them out to be. I've seen no evidence that they are.
