Mac will not recognise camera

Hello

Just got a new Macbook Pro, 13inch. We want to use it to edit films but so far we cannot get the Mac to recognise the video camera. The camera is a Canon xm1 mini dv and it is connected with a firewire. When we plugged it in it does not even appear in the finder and Adobe Premiere does not recognise it either.... Any ideas?

Hi,

I found This

It suggests windows users as well have issues with connecting to a WiFi unit that is broadcasting a SSDI name with spaces in it:-

It may be a bit hard to see in this screenshot, but the SSID field reads Time, whereas back in Figure 3, you can see that the correct SSID for my Time Capsule basestation is Time after Time. Evidently the D-Link Wizard doesn't correctly handle SSIDs with blanks. Once I corrected the SSID using the browser interface, I was online wirelessly.

It also pint out the Install CD is Windows only

I just bought this webcam as well, and there is a Mac version of the setup guide on http://www.mydlink.com

I set it up without issues, and keep in mind that after you set it up, it doesn't need a computer to work.

I am stuck on another issue now - I am using a Time Capsule at home and would like to enable UPnP to eliminate the time limit imposed when viewing the video. I found out how to do this (Port Forwarding), but I don't know the specifics for the DCS-930L...
