Can I restrict my kids from accessing YouTube, etc?
I'm considering buying an iTouch for my 11 year-old son, but I want to restrict his ability to access YouTube and other sites. The Apple store person at Lennox Mall showed me how to do this, but it seems that my son could easily turn the restrictions off when I'm not around, then turn them back on. Is there a parental control, perhaps a parental code, that would prevent this? The girl at the store didn't know the answer.
yes, you can restrict youtube, however, you are not able to restrict specific websites and allow others (that I am aware, others may know of a way)..In order to turn on restrictions will to create a password. Once created, you also need to enter the password in order to modify or turn off the restrictions.

Just for clarity, the passcode for the screen lock is different from the passcode for restrictions. To se restrictions you go to on your iPod Settings>General>Restrictions. You can also prevent use of Safari, YouTube (as you know), the App Store and other apps. However, if you have another browser on the iPod that still can be used.
