There already are free downloads of software that will allow you to use AirPrint on just about any WIRELESS printer. I have been using one such enabling software on my iPad to print to an HP Photosmart C7250 MFP.
What site did you load that from?
I think he's referring to workarounds that will work as long as your Mac/PC is switched on. The only way to print directly to a wi-fi printer is through Airprint or apps like 'Print n Share'.
This may not be applicable now, since I have 4.3.3 and most of this conversation happened a while ago, but I downloaded a free app, Epson iPrint and was able to print wirelessly to my Epson Workforce 610 without using a computer in any way. However, I cannot print directy from safari, I have to copy the URL into the Epson app and print from it.
The original thread posts I read indicated that some legal hurdle caused the limititation of the AirPrint printer access, and that updates may be on the way. Is that still the sentiment?
I'd rather not buy a compatible printer, or have to print via my computer, just to print an odd boarding pass or RMA slip...
I have the HP C7250 AIO... Could you tell me which app/software that you are using to print wirelessly? Cheers.
