My IPad will NOT sync with iTunes - Please help!

I was recently trying to update my iPad and after I downloaded iTunes 10.1, my iPad is no longer being recognized and will not sync. I've followed every step in the online troubleshooting guide, checked the USB port (it does detect the iPod, iPad, and other USB media), and even reinstalled iTunes. When I run the diagnostics under the Help menu in iTunes, it tells me that the iPod or device is not being detected. However, the USB port is functional, the iPad is fully charged, and the only thing that has changed is the updated iTunes. I don't know what else to do 😟 Any ideas?

If you have a pc you are tring to sync to then have a look at your Virus Protection software, if you are using Norton then this is the problem, you could try uninsatlling Norton and you will have to use the Norton removal tool to compleatly uninstall it, then uninstall I tunes from your PC and re boot it from a compleate shutdown, then re insatll iTunes and try it again, it worked for me and I will not use Norton at all as this seems to think that anything that is trying to access you PC is a threat, am buggered if I could find a way to let my iPad access the PC with Norton being installed.

I still have the No Synch / not recognisd by Itunes problem - and IPad doesn't charge via USB either on my old OR my new computer no matter how many cables I try. Am getting so irritated that you have to be a techhead just to do the simplest things, which are supposed to be auto ( eg Itunes will open when you plug your device in - NOT!! ) Even deciphering some of the response ' jargon' is hard when. THis is such a common issue - how come Apple seem to do nothing?

I have no idea why my iPhone won't connect to iTunes. When I'm installing iTunes right before it's ready to complete it comes up with "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services." I've tried changing (x86) to (x64) but that hasn't seemed to have worked. Do you maybe know how to resolve this question. Thanks

I had this problem after updating an IPad, and an Ipad air

After about an hours research, I found this thread, and decided to do the following

Control Panel, Itunes, UNINSTALL

Went to the itunes homepage and downloaded the new version of Itunes and reinstalled the lot. make sure you HAVE your device disconnected from the computer. during Uninstall, download and reinstall. Once you have Itunes set up, plug your device into the computer

Once set up i plugged in my Ipad air, Itunes immediately recognized it and commenced syncing my data and apps associated with my account, after it re Installed the apple device driver that was mentions previously in this thread.

Now as i tell you all, my Ipad air is humming away to my right syncing and updating all apps :-)
