Any alternatives for email client for iPad?

The app that comes installed with the iPad is not really much of an email reader. I can't find any alternative apps in the app store. Suggestions/tips?

Why not? Mail doesn't take up a lot of resources. My mail since 2003 (when I got my first real laptop), minus a few archived folders only takes up 5GB of space. I'm using 44GB of space for audio. The app has no problem importing my multiple mail accounts. Why not import filtering rules? At the very least, loading mail shouldn't force you to check in with the server to read the mail that you ALREADY downloaded previously. If you don't have an internet connection, you're ******. It just spins and hangs. What a joke.

Gmail, hotmail, yahoo.. all these other services manage to handle mail in a lightweight manner. Why can't Apple do the same, since they provide apps designed for THAT PURPOSE.

I'm not asking to design websites or build corporate wireframes on my ipad. I just want to check mail and play some music without much hassle. Unfortunately, it's a lot of ******* hassle.

"Asking the iOS mail app to handle this is a joke."

Well yes, the iOS mail app is a joke. Unfortunately, the joke is on everyone who has forked out $$$ for the iPad. It *could* be oh so good. I'm finding it really hard to understand how people can defend something which is so basic in its abilities.

Would you buy a car which had a Park Bench for its front seats? On one of these forums I read someone defending the software from criticism because mail can be read with it. Perhaps that contributor would be happy with such a car? I think not.

Deggie...

Respectfully if android can do it and Linux in general (from whence fell android) do it so can Apple iOS... The client on iPad 3 does not even give me the choice between IMAP and pop three... I bought the iPad so I could be mobile wouldn't have to carry around a laptop. If Apple can't be bothered to listen to the consumer perhaps it's time for me to go back to android

Actually since I work for a large company as a network administrator and an email administrator I do understand… my point is that on Apple's part it's either lazy programming, or it is built to fit in with Apple's idea of simpler is better... But knowing that not all users are simple in their needs Apple should have functionality available to those people as well... It needs to be faced that technologically oriented people will be buying the equipment too they should also have options... Having basic access IMAP folders and the ability to arrange them and manage them is not something that should be left out of an email client... And even though we're moving away from pop three it shouldn't be left out of access to those either.

Hope I don't have any stock in that company.

I have an IMAP mail account and I do have access to IMAP folders and can create them on both my iPad and my iPhone, I'm not sure why you apparently cannot do this on your device. Not being able to do so on a POP3 account is a limitation of POP, not Apple's mail client on iOS.

Realize that the differences between clients will be largely cosmetic, or with enhancement for Exchange. They still won't give you folders in POP mail, etc.

True, but I was really only addressing the availability of additional apps, not the specific folder issue. It would appear the majority are geared to a specific mail service, anyway.
