Problem with Keychain Access
I have not much hope but I think this is my last chance. i have a password stored on my computer and I can use it but not see it :
I have a Skype account and I can login in the Skype application using the Mac OS X keychain.
I'd like to login also on my iPhone but I have forgotten the password (I have never needed it since it was recorded in my keychain).
i can't reset it from the Skype website because the email address I used to register is no longer valid and even though I changed it in the Skype application they still don't recognize it so the say I have to remember my password ( as if it can happen by magic !! ) and I can't reset it neither from the Skype app because it needs the old password ( even though I'm already logged in ...), anyway I have to recover it from my keychain.
if I open the Keychain Access app and go to the skype item>Get Info>Show password it doesn't do anything (the first time, it asked for my login password and I clicked Always allow) :
the checkbox get unchecked right away and the password does not show.
I'm sure of my login password because it works with other items and there is no error message when I enter it.
i tried to change the Access Control settings to all application and to no application and to restart Keychain Access, but it still does not work.
I tried to lock/unlock the password many times but still nothing.
I tried to right click>copy password but it does not do anything either (the clipboard still contains what I copied before).
I went to ~/Library/Keychains/ and made a strings command on the login.keychain file but the password is encrypted so I can't read it.
i think this is unbelievable i just want to access a password stored on my computer but I can;t find a way !!
any help please ?
