Cannon irc 2880

I've just upgraded to a new MacBook Pro, and I am trying to install the printer drivers for a Canon irc 2880 network printer that is located on our office network. After installing the drivers (keeping in mind that this driver did work on an early 2008 MBP model) one of three things happens. All print jobs pause before able to print; I get an error message "ERROR CODE 50" that Canon can't help with; or the printer prints pages upon pages of code that I have yet to track down the source.

Please help, I just want to get some work done.
Thanks,
Kyle

Printer ip address is correct I was able to verify this.

Subnet Mask: is 255.255.255.0 on both Macs.

Router : is 10.176.4.1 on both Macs.

Any other suggestions? I also forwarded this thread to our IT guys to see if they could help any, hopefully they'll chime in. If they contact me with an answer I'll relay that information here as well.

At this stage I have no more suggestions. Looking back through the posts I feel like we have covered everything so this is annoying that I have not managed to get it working for you. I think there is something on your local network that could be blocking the communication of the UFR2 driver and Printmonitor but not the RUI (internal web page) so the assistance from your IT would be great.

So I wish you luck with getting it resolved. If your IT needs any Canon related info then please post here and I will see if I can assist.

Hello how are you ?
I just had the same problem with my Imac and a canon IRC2880 and my Imac on mac os 10.6.6 ... I resolve the problem by uninstalling every canon UFRII drivers, then installing the UFRII V2.21 driver for the IRC 3580 :

http://fr.software.canon-europe.com/software/0040294.asp?model=

When you want to install the printer click on "+"choose linePrinter Daemon Lpd, write the IP adress of the printer, then select printer software and choose the Canon iR C3080/3480/3580 UFR II(UK).

Works very good 😉
