Apple Mobile Device (Recovery Mode)

Hello.
I'm trying to update my iPhone 3GS, but it will not update, a message keep comming up saying " Windows needs to update the driver software for Apple Mobile Device (Recovery Mode) "
And now, everytime I connect my iPhone to my computer, that message comes up, and I can't do anything with my iPhone on the computer..
My iPhone shows a picture of a USB hub, and arrow pointing against a iTunes icon.
- I'm using Windows Vista, anyone who knows a solution to this problem? Or atleast where I can find the software?

Obviously, I can't use my phone at all now..
When I unplug it, it's still at the "connect to iTunes screen"

uninstall itunes then restart windows for 1-2 times so that all data is flushed
out, then reinstall latest itunes.
and must take backup of music, purchased content etc. on dvd

When I reinstall iTunes, will it do so that the iPhone doesn't know that it's actually this computer which I've first sync'd on?
Don't really know how to explain it, but hope ya got the point!:)

No problem with that use your same
Apple I'd that you are using with your
iPhone. Do take backup of music etc
From your old iTunes. And deauthorize
Before uninstalling iTunes. Then reinstall
And use old apple id for sign in.

I am having the same problem wondering if someone can help me. my iphone 3gs needed to be restored and it went into recovery mode. I have tried several times within two day and no positive results. not worrying about data just i need my phone. if you can assist or no of someone who can my email is monicamfundisi@aol.com.
