Itunes persistent error -42032

New itunes (10.1.0.56) does not work with Windows XP. Authorizing of computer or purchasing/downloading apps cause "Unknown error occurred (-42032)".

According to other blogs, this error persists for several weeks, with no reaction from Apple. Have you any solutions available?

Hi!

I'm a little bit in "late train" now, but I think found one more cause and solution for this -42032 error.

I tried to get rid of this error on my Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 FI by re-installing iTunes v11.0.1.12 (finnish), but still the error was remaining.

After reading through several posts on this thread I began to pay attention to the several times pointed SC Info -folder, and checked the rights for it, and found the point there!

Folder C:\Program Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\SC Info, note, just with these same english names also on the finnish version, containing 3 files has full rights granted for the Administrators -group, but for some reason the rights do not get inherited for a single user having the Administrators rights ... This is also the explanation for the Chris's "run as administrator" hint working, as the Administrators -group is like a "Super-Administrator" and the regular "User-Administrator" do not have the same super-level rights.

As another correction workaround I did grant the full rights to the SC Info -folder also to the Users -group, and this did get the error to vanish!

Best regards,

Pete V.
