iT.temp Files

Usually, that indicates that security software (or some other application) is interfering with iTunes library-file writes.

What security software are you using on the PC? (Firewall, antivirus, antispyware?) Does it include an Eset product, by any chance?

Advanced System Care is the program I think is taking care of deleting temp files.

Hmmm. I suspect ASC might be the culprit here. (It's been implicated in some error-message-free iTunes launch failures, too.) iTunes uses temp files to store information prior to writing to the iTunes library .itl file. So, if something interferes with that, the temp files can lurk around filling up the disk (instead of automatically being removed after the library file write has been completed).

Try launching and closing iTunes with ASC running as normally ... does a new iT.temp get created?

Now try launching and closing iTunes with "Junk files clean" switched off in ASC. Does a new iT.temp get created then?

Now do I want to keep "Clean Junk Files" disabled or do I want to manage the iT. files manually? Ah the joys of Windows.

Not sure how effective this will be, but maybe there's a halfway-house situation ... If you uncheck "Windows Temporary Files" in your Junk Files Clean options and leave Junk Files Clean enabled, does that still prevent the iT.temp files being produced?

(If so, you can at least still have ASC automatically removing your Temporary internet files.)

I'm having the same issue but using Microsoft Security Essentials and Spyware doctor I deleted it yesterday but now its back and saying i need permission to delete from admin, the account is an admin account

Okay, we want to stop it from scanning the program and library files.

Do you have a 64-bit version of Windows 7? If so, give the following instructions a try:
